Casino Royal - After the hot trash that was Die Another Day this must have been revelation. I like that Daniel Craig (like Connery who was a body builder) helooks like someone who could actually smash your face in. Pierce Brosnan always looked like a twig little 5 foot guy and Roger Moore? Well. It's Roger Moore. Timothy Doltan wasn't exact a big guy but he at least he had a deadly earnestness.

Movie itself is slightly overrated imo. The pacing really drags, especially during the Casino section, and after that a whole segment with Vesper, it's just too much. The death of Vesper was somewhat eh. Partly because well... Bond is a sociopath in this one, where as in "In Her Majesties Secret Service", he was far more empathetic.

The final action scene itself is pretty meh, the movie really blows it's load in the first half with a fantastic chase sequence and a killer (literally) opening.

Le Chiffre's death is a let-down as well. His death is spectacularly unspectacular. There isn't really any mystery behind it either, as to anything with even a basic knowledge will know it's Spectre.

I get they were trying to move away from the campy ridiculousness of Die Another Day, but they kind of went too far in the opposite direction. I enjoy Skyfall alot more and even Spectre, which sort of does have the perfect balance of serious and fanatic - albeit with it's own problems

Love the credit sequence, good tune as well.

Blair Witch 2 Book of Shadows 3.5/5 I seen this movie a few times I'm in the minority and actually really like this movie. It just fit the early 00's perfectly it's not a masterpiece by any means it's just a fun horror movie with some interesting moments.

Finally watched the last TMNT movie. Almost turned it off after the cheesy opening scene but stuck with it and was glad I did. It was still cheesy like the cartoon but kept some of the plot points from the comics. Liked their take on Beebop and Rocksteady but Stephen Amell wasn't a very good Casey Jones. The original 90's movies are still better.

Quantum Of Solace - This movie gets a really bad rap. In my opinion it's a pretty good follow-up to Casino Royal as it starts right where it left off and ends, pretty satisfying to the whole Vesper story.

The Bond girl (Camille Montes) isn't some dumb bimbo who jumps into bed with Bond. She has her own, pretty decent back-story that works in coalescent with Bonds.

Strawberry Fields on the other hand, feels pretty pointless. And given how James Bond humps anything with legs, sending a beautiful, naive 25+ year old woman, seems pretty stupid on M's part, it makes no 0 sense. But at least you get a nod to Goldenfinger?

The action scenes for the most part are pretty terrible. Jump-cut overkill to the point of incomprehensible, and pretty clear greenscreen/CGI, which it a no-no for Bond movies unless absolutely necessary.

Pretty much every fight-scene is terrible barring a short, brutal fight scene where a poor fellow gets it in the kneck.

There are technically two villains, one some peice of shit rapist general one and the other a smiley little Europe dude. Both are quite dislikeable, which is generally the sign of a good villain. Although the way both die, much like Casino Royal are pretty lame.

I've say a couple of people claim this is the worst Bond movie, which seems kinda ridiculous, episcopally after Die Another Day. That is just, the pits.

Skyfall - Easily top 5 Bond movies. Not perfect though.

The opening involving Bond getting show drags on way too long. Sévérine isn't really given enough screen-time and is killed off almost immediately. It sets up a back-story for her, but it's just so irrelevant, and she only serves to get Bond from A to B. The Island itself, and the helicopters when they arrive, look very phony. And it's too long, really. Skyfall gets attacked with two waves of enemies and then a probably not really needed, ice-fight with a predictable ending.

But, it doesn't drag in the same way as Casino Royal. The villain doesn't get some limp ending like the previous two, he's great. And a good example of a gay character (or bisexual i'm not sure), that feels well done that some SJW shit getting rammed in your face. He feels like classic Bond villain as well, being over-the-top, but not too over-the-top.

It's a good send-off for M (Judi Dench), who, like The World Is Not Enough, is the target for the villains. It's much better done here obviously, and she's been in the franchise that long (and you notice binge watching) that it does feel like a more substantial loss than the majority of characters. And it ties in well with the idea of the old getting antiquated as Silva uses new techniques and Bond/co says "The old ways" about 1 million times. Basically her kiddys.

It also had a nod to Roger Moore jumping over crocodiles. And Q is 12.

The last movie i've watched was " A Quiet Place " is pretty terrible in my opinion ( no story were those creature came from that hunt the cast and the characters don't talk to much because if they make sound these creatures were going to hunt them & kill them which is terrible.) the second one is " Deadpool " not very good nor bad an average superhero i mean anti hero movie. so far the only movie that still worth watching repeatedly is LOTR trilogy.

I watched Blade Runner on three grand of equipment.

It was nice. Very nice. As always, the included Blu-ray version looked dull in comparison, in terms of color and clarity. It was also sweet to watch this in Dolby Atmos (5.1.2) after previously only watching it with headphones. Awesome sound. I wish there was way more demand for these old movies on the new format.

Watched Pet Cemetery II on a whim. Features a pre-Terminator 2 Edward Furlong. This movie is fun trash. Clancy Brown hamming it up is easily best parts.

Spectre - After rewatching this a couple of times it's not as good as I originally thought. Firstly, the theme song and credits get alot of hate, but I personally think it's pretty good, I love the octopuses and monotone color. The song does feel like it's trying too hard to compete with Adele's Skyfall than be it's own entity.

I love that they brought in more of the fantastical bond elements. A car with gadgets, a superhuman henchman, and after much screwing around, what was quite obviously Spectre.

The opening action scene is pretty great as well. Probably the best action scene in the movie. The car cash doesn't really have anything going on as it's narrow paths, it looks nice, but it's not exciting. Plane scene meh and the train fight isn't as good as From Russia With Love or The Spy Who Loved Me, a waste of a good Bautista. The final section with Blofeld is just Bond shooting at a helicopter with an overly elaborate sequence of him running around a building to save woman-lady It's all abit meh. At least it's easily comprehensible compared to Quantum Of Solace which was just a straight up mess.

The Bond girl (Death Stranding lady) is well acted, but her character doesn't seem to serve any purpose. She's pretty bad compared to Vesper and Camille Montes. Your basic damsel in distress, not terribly interesting.

The film tries to tie all the other movies together, which is a common complaint. Blofeld brother who masterminded, everything, ever? It's pretty bad really. Wasn't needed. And Blofeld himself (Christoph Waltz) is not very good. The whole family thing worked far better in Skyfall, it's just a silly mess in this movie.

All Bonds allies get into action (M, Money Penny etc..) The movie needed them to do something. There's only so many times they can be infiltrated.

Hope the next (last?) one for him is on form.

Not the worst movie (Die Another Day), but definitely at the bottom of the list along with the like of Diamonds Are Forever.

Man With The Golden Gun is still ^^underrated^^

The Black Hole - I only realized after watching it on a whim this was a Disney movie. Which is surprising, it's pretty dark and has occasionally creepy scenes. It's basically Event Horizon lol

The cutsey robots look like dustbins but everything looks amazing considering the time period. The final scene where the guy fuses with the robot and creates robot hell? Is weirdly disturbing.

Out 1 (1971, France)

I saw on IMDB only 900 users have watched this. Makes sense, being a 13 hour long art house movie. I found it innovative, strange, slow at times, slightly frustrating and interesting. These two characters learn about a self-interested secret society and want to be a part of it. It becomes an obsession for them. Turns out that the society was never really functional. Neither of the outsiders join. The man realizes what a farce it is and happily goes back to what he did at the beginning of the movie, playing dumb (mute) and soliciting money by forcing cafe patrons to listen to his irritating harmonica tunes. The film also spends a lot of time on this theater group trying to tell (Actually, "tell" is a bad word in this case. They don't want to present it, I don't think. They spontaneously act out these scenes, mostly physically, because it they feel it enriches them.) the story of Prometheus from a modern perspective. The theater group falls apart. The leader, one of the members of the Thirteen, the secret society, loses interest in the play and struggles to find focus and direction with other theatrical pursuits. Most of the dialogue and performance art during these meetings seemed unscripted. Anyway, I'm not that good at analyzing movies like this. Even when I felt lost, found it pretentious and felt it was stretching to 13 hours for the sake of alluding to Balzac's Thirteen collection, which is referenced a lot, I still enjoyed it for the cinematography and characters.

4/5

Maybe I'm being slightly generous with my score, but overall I did enjoy myself and don't feel I wasted my time. I like having it in my physical collection. I like uniqueness.

Halloween - Pretty good. One of the better horror movies seen in a while. Slow building. More grounded, no super-natural, Jason un-killable nonsense. When you get glimpses of him without the mask he's just a very average looking old dude. When he goes on a murder spree there isn't really any set-up in a bad attempt to make you like the victims (usually a bunch of sex mad teenagers and Jocks), he just does it randomly, it's great.

Night of the Comet - Has an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes and that's a big reason why I don't like movie reviewers cause this movie sucked. Great idea (kinda stolen from Night of the Living dead) but really bad execution. For every one thing this movie does right it then goes and does 5 things bad. 4/10
