The Living Daylights - One of the best Bond movies, Bonds, Bond scores, Bond girls but worst villains. Brad Whitaker could almost not be in the movie, and the climax, after the Afghanistan battle, again one of the best action sequences in the series (which Uncharted wholesale ripped off) is just lame.

Bemused as to how some people don't like Timothy Dalton, he basically eradicated the camp, read the books and actually gave a shit compared to Roger Moore.

But ye, easy top 5.

That was on in the background last night.

Weird with these stalkers on my back I thought you were one of them for a moment! Haha. Oh that Justin Hernandez with son Skyler.

The film does have a James Bond charm that the modern ones are somewhat lacking, IMO.

Last two were The Matrix and The Bridge on the River Kwai in 4K HDR Dolby Atmos. They both look and sound marvelous. I briefly tried out the regular Blu-ray of Bridge and was disturbed by how saturated the colors were after seeing it in HDR. HDR is so much more realistic. Obviously, it was also considerably blurrier. I wish way more of these old movies were remastered. Hoping 2001 will be done justice when it releases in November.

Deadpool 2 - Love the first movie, actually watched it again a few days ago just to get ready for the second and was still blown away by how good it is and how amazing the special effects were.

Cut to the second movie, while I enjoyed it it wasn't as focused as the first and the special effects weren't nearly as well done. I'm guessing a lot of this was because of them changing directors. Even Colossus took a big downgrade visually as did the cinematography and even the fight scenes.

Deadpool - 9.5/10

Deadpool 2 -7/10

Licence To Kill - Not as good as The Living Daylights. Has a couple of good action sequences and Dalton is as good as ever, but it feels much smaller in scope and not really invested in the characters, although it's good to see Felix more involved.

One thing that's neat is that every era afterwards barring (until I find it) Pierce Bronson and Danial Craig bring up that he was married Seems OHMSS is the only thread that carries over movie to movie.

Seen Searching at the cinema tonight, a found footage film about a girl who goes missing. Sounds like its been before plenty of times but this presents it in quite an original and smart way.

Film is suspenseful with a couple plot twists, your always trying to guess whats coming and never get it right.

Great film 8/10

Goldeneye - Pretty great movie. Only bone to pick is how anti-climatic the final fight scene is. It really peaks at the tank chase and watching Sean Bean and Pierce Bronson have a bar fight doesn't exceed or come close to it.

Izabella Scorupco's character is one of the better Bond girls, she isn't a moron for once. Xenia Onatopp's kill method is very nice.

Tomorrow Never Dies - Bit of a mixed bag.

Compared to Goldeneye's pretty epic opening, it's straight up bad. A few action scenes in general have really choppy editing in alot of sequences with weird random slow motion, and generally awkward shots. The printing factory action scene in particular was terrible.

But... it has some great action sequences, specifically a radio controlled BMW, and Bike chase through Chinese streets.

Plot is basically You Only Live Twice, mad dude making it look like "the other side" is being antagonistic. Pretty generic villain and henchman.

Music score is probably the worst I've heard in a Bond movie. Alot of the time just banging out the typical Bond theme over and over.

Teri Hatcher is abysmal as a Bond girl, wooden as shit. When she dies it completely fails to generate an inclining of emotion. Seems to serve almost no purpose to the plot. Michelle Yeoh on the other hand is great, Bonds equal. Girl power and all that shite.

Could have been worse, could have been better. No Goldeneye.

Seen the NUN last night.

The next part of the conjuring universe, the film was made because of its brief and creepy appearance in conjuring 2.

Anyway film is terrible, very cliche gets very far fetched and the characters are poorly written. The film has several jump scares that are too predicable to have any impact.

AVOID unless your a super-fan of the conjuring universe and want to see them desperately tie this to the other films.

I don’t watch movies much. Anybody ever been dealt drama to the Nth degree? Lmfao I have a girl stalking me and some jealous guy doing the same. It’s this really effed up situation. It would make for a lousy film. Some of the threatening emails I’ve been sent almost feel like it’s out of a horror film though.

Might watch Mad Max today. More my style—direct and to the point. These guys following me around are dull af individuals that are so shy and scared they use technology. Hahaha damn 100 to 1 and not a single one of them has the balls to speak up. Amazing.

Seriously check out those Craigslist forums (open and romantic advice). You guys think this place and system wars gets out of hand, you ain’t seen nothing.

Josh Brolin/Marvel double-double!

Sorry for not posting in a long while - I literally just haven't seen any movies worth talking about in all that time. Finally that changes.

Anyway, Deadpool 2. Still hilarious, but a bit messy and unfocused. Ryan Reynolds once again nails the role he seemed born to play. Josh Brolin's Cable and Zazie Beetz were also excellent additions. I thought Julian Dennison's character was a bit weak. Overall, not as good as the first one, but a solid second outing nonetheless. 7/10.

And of course, Avengers: Infinity War. Wow. Just wow. Spectacular visuals, epic scale, total entertainment. Everybody got their moments to shine, which is an achievement in a film of this scale. However, Josh Brolin's Thanos was the clear star of the show: simultaneously threatening yet sympathetic, simple in his villainy yet complex in his emotions and motivations. One of the best film supervillain ever. And that ending? Beautiful. This is this century's Empire Strikes Back; a blockbuster classic that will be remembered for years to come. 9/10.

While Tom Clancy wasn't fond of the film himself (never read the books), I find it a solid thriller in the Jack Ryan film series. The switch from Alec Baldwin to Harrison Ford ended up being for the better, given that Harrison is more suited for action-thrillers, as he should for Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

Though Sean Bean's Irish accent is laughable, and I've heard nothing this bad since Cate Blanchett as a Soviet in Crystal Skull.

The World Is Not Enough - One of the weakest Bond movies. Which is a shame, it has the first "main" female villain, Sophie Marceau (who's incredibly attractive), and her relationship with Robert Carlyle's character is actually quite interesting, as it flips from him manipulating her, to her manipulating him. But, it's quickly glosses over.

M also gets some action, but it's shit compared to Skyfall.

Christmas Jones is undoubtedly the worst Bond girl and Pierce Brosnan seems to be on autopilot at this point, no where near as good as he was in Goldeneye.

The movie only really has one good action scene involving a helicopter with blades, everything else, including the opening is meh. Has a big long extended opening, with a spy-boat, but it's not terribly exciting and the ski-chase lacks any real tension compared to For Your Eyes Only (which actually had some terrific action sequences) and On Her Majesties Secret Service.

Film is just poo. Really And i'm about the hit the most pooy'est next.

John Wick 2. Man, I can't believe this isn't rated as comedy. The first was ridiculous enough but I really think they went too far with the sequel. I mean nothing is even remotely plausible in this movie.

@thereal25: I feel ya, I LOVED the first John Wick, great action, simple story that worked, it was awesome IMO. The sequel, while I did enjoy it, went way to far and it hurt the movie because of it. Hopefully the third is more in tune with the original.

Die Another Another Day -Actually has a really cool, fun opening. Also sets up (what could be a good story) by subverting the typical Bond gets away = smart ass line. He fails and winds up getting torched by an abnormally hot North Koren lady solider. The credits sequence for this is pretty neat as well.

Unfortunately the torture Bond is suffering is nothing compared to listening to Madonna murder a voice synthesizer. It's just, awful.

Then we get the rest of the movie, and it continues to turn to shit with awful CGI and over the top nonsense that makes Moonraker look like Casino Royal. Has "1" good sword fight.

Overall, weak as shit, and definitely needed rebooted at this point.
