Funny Games (1997 original) - I can see why people walked out on this movie lol
Tries to subvert the slasher movie where there is basically no happy ending and just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Some scenes are quite ball-grabbing though, give it that. Towards end, a scene in the room that's still and silent while a TV plays with a kind of quiet tension haven't really seen in a movie before.
A Beautiful Mind.Man this movie is brilliant.I never really paid too much attention to John Nash..shit i lost focus...patterns...about his irrational obsession of finding patterns. You know finding things that made sense to him in his delusions.
Angel Heart.Another brilliant movie. And another rewatch. This movie is just incredible. This is how you make an interaccional relationship look natural instead of corn pops material like Venom Maximum carnage.Maybe is the difference between great actors(Angel Heart) and great writers against terrible writers(Venom)...that could only come up with a teenage slash fanfiction romance level for that movie between carnage and the screaming chick.
venom maximum carnage.seriously...how come hollywood keep hiring this terrible writers...i watched this movie cause the previous one was okay but this one...holy shit...it was like it was written a by 12 year old horny gothic chick that loves twilight and has never had any contact with any male of any species.
Beavis and Butt-head Do the Universe. Just finished watching it on Paramount +, and just like the trailer promised, it's the dumbest sci-fi movie ever made (in a good way).
If you liked the show and their first movie, you'll get a kick out of this as well. It should tide over most fans until the new revival series comes out later this year.
watched the new dr strange movie last night. was one of those disengage your brain and sit back and be entertained by 2 hours of special fx porn type things. wont say much about the plot but its opened the door for deadpool to be introduced to that side of the mcu, and i like deadpool so i'm happy about where that could lead
@Macutchi: Saw it last night as well. Nothing ground-breaking but I enjoyed it. Sam Raimi did an excellent job directing and introducing horror elements into the movie. Kinda hope he would lean more onto that but it's still Disney and has to remain kid-friendly. I wanted even more cameos but the ones actually in the movie served their purpose nicely.
Lightyear was a rather conflicting watch because: on one hand as a standalone film, it's a great and fun sci-fi movie; yet as a spin-off that's meant to exist within the Toy Story universe, it's rough around the edges.
Why it feels great as a standalone: it's a sci-fi blockbuster adventure with a fun plot that's engaging. It may feel derivative of other sci-fi flicks, but I think that is kinda the point as this was a movie Andy (from Toy Story, year 1995) saw back in the day that made him want the action figure. That is all cool, but sinking this into the overall lore of the Toy Story universe is problematic.
My biggest issue is: Lightyear has an entire cast of characters, including a robot cat that steals the show. Why were none of these characters ever as toys in the Toy Story universe? I've heard some people claim reaches like "Andy's mom couldn't afford more than Buzz Lightyear." Which is pretty silly, because through the entire franchise Buzz has been relevant in more places than in just Andy's room. You see Buzz Lightyear TV ad's, you go through an entire shopping isle at Al's Toy Barn, etc. - no robot cat in sight. That's quite an omission of continuity if you ask me.
Overall though, if you are willing to look past some of the continuity issues, it's a good time with gorgeous animation and lots of action and spectacle.
Is it the best Pixar movie? No.
Is it the best sci-fi movie Pixar has made? No.
Is it the best Pixar movie released in 2022?
Is it a fair and entertaining enough Pixar movie if you look past its flaws? Sure.
I think making this as a Buzz Lightyear film is what's most problematic of all, and it would have worked much better if it was just a completely original space travel IP altogether without the baggage of the Toy Story franchise trailing behind it.
Not a movie, but had to give a shout out to Dark, the German Netflix series I just finished last night. One of the most mind-blowing writing in any film or series and it ended beautifully.
Beavis and Butthead Do Universe - Beavis and Butthead go on an adventure to try bang cartoon Tulsi Gabbard.
Very similar to the first movie where they Forest Gump their way through everything. Although unlike the first movie people around them seem to act abit stupid for plot convenience.
Bit on the longside, felt like should have been about 60 min or something but starts to drag.
Survivor.Season 1.Gotdamn my favorite survivor.Thunder Thighs Collen didn't win.Oh well.
Back to the Future.Rewatch.
Catch 22.I'm liking this movie less and less with every rewatch. It seems too on the nose with it's anti-military message.
Cemetery Man.I never consider it before but after rewatching this movie quite a few times. This movie kinda black pills Men regarding chicks. When it shows how every chick he meets looks like the first chick he loved but every time it ends in overwhelming deception for him.I mean with one of the chicks he was actually considering cuttings his dick off cause she had penis phobia.LOL.The only thing he could do with her was everything but sex.And still he was willing to make that sacrifice just to be with her.So i wasn't really surprised when he became a serial killer.
Battle Royale. This is another movie that made me rethink my stance regarding the protagonists. All of them were pretty much assholes in one way or another.Either by actually stabbing his teacher(nobu) or covering up for their friends crimes.Like the chick that was the reincarnation of ''Buda''.That hid the blade. And the all star basketball dude.
So I've been catching up with MCU Phase 4 lately. My ratings for the MCU Phase 4 movies and shows I've finished so far:
WandaVision (TV) - 8/10
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (TV) - 7/10
Loki (TV) - 9/10
Black Widow (movie) - 4/10
What If...? (TV) - 7/10
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (movie) - 6/10
Eternals (movie) - 5/10
Spider-Man: No Way Home (movie) - 9/10
Overall, the MCU shows have turned out surprisingly good while the MCU Phase 4 movies have been disappointing (except for Spider-Man). WandaVision and especially Loki turned out much better than I had expected. I thought they'd be trash, but they turned out to be fascinating suspense stories. Loki is up there among the best time travel adventures like Steins Gate and Back to the Future.

Even the main boy and girl, Shuya and Noriko? They seemed like the only decent characters in a classroom full of psychos. But then again, a lot of normal people would go psycho if they found themselves in a similar situation. Survival instincts can sometimes bring out the worst in people. Battle Royale explored the theme better than the many movies, games, shows, anime and comics it inspired.

Those are the ones i'm talking about..shuya was friends with nobu who stabbed his teacher in the ass and at the same time noriko concealed the knife to protect nobu.I honestly had zero empathy for them. When Shuya was tear jerking off after his friend nobu was killed by kitano.I was like whatever. You reap what you sow.Your buddy buddy was a mega asshole.
@ophelfromhell: Almost forgot about Nobu (haven't watched it in a long time). Shuya and Noriko were definitely not innocent, but are flawed morally grey protagonists. The class wasn't chosen at random, but because they had a history of anti-social behaviour and violence.
@Jag85: Yep.When i saw the scene when Kitano was in an empty classroom and the message ''we won't attend class cause we don't feel like it'' i was like **** this stupid ass kids.I knew they went thru some shit but it didn't seem like they wanted to get better or improve themselves.I didn't see any scene were Kitano was being an awful teacher but i saw multiple stances were the kids from his class were complete assholes.
@ophelfromhell: Kitano is a murderous psychopath who kills his students, which objectively makes him an awful teacher. But in the past, he was a good teacher being mistreated by his students, until he had enough and turned into a murderous psycho.
@Jag85: Yeah Man i don't condone his actions but i think he was just looking for that good student...nvm...just a decent human being that was kind to him...even his fucking daughter treated him like shit. That's why he made noriko into the reincarnation of Budha.
@ophelfromhell: Kitano is an interesting villain. He was basically a nice guy who got treated like crap by his students and even his own kid. So he lost faith in humanity and just gave up on living.
The Bob's Burgers Movie (2022) - A fun, lighthearted movie; it's not exactly reinventing the wheel, or a huge epic, but it doesn't need to be. Currently streaming on Hulu and HBO Max for those interested.
Hilarious and much better than Ragnarok though I didn't really like Gorr not being in the movie that much. Christian Bale definitely was amazing as the God Killer though was disappointed how tame the movie was. Would give in a 7/10 only cause it was too much comedy and trying to be serious. It would should of been serious with a little bit of humor.
Pretty good biopic, gets a lot right and some wrong, some is a little dramatised as you would expect
Tom Hands and Austin Butler both give excellent performances worth a watch even if your not interested in Elvis, as its an interesting and tragic story.
Twilight Zone(50's).Finished.The last season had some great episodes.
Survivor Season 3.I liked Kim but she didn't win...although this time i didn't mind the winner.
X-Files(watching season 5)
Rewatches:
Cyborg Girl.
Event Horizon.
Johnny Got his Gun.Since i barely see her in the Metallica video called ''One'' but i thought that nurse was good but after seeing this movie a few times. She is really top tier material.
Inferno - Usually down with Dario Argento stuff but didn't really like this. Nice visuals, and some great death scenes. But otherwise kinda boring and the characters sound like robots interacting.
A great K-horror survival drama series on Netflix. It's like Train to Busan and Attack on Titan meets Evil Dead and Attack the Block. Looking forward to Season 2.
Without giving too much away I think Jordan Peele's latest film, Nope, analyzes society's obsession with turning heads towards the extreme measures that life throws. It speaks to a society that can't turn a head away from a car crash on the road, or the obsession of pulling out a camera to record every little thing. The obsession to chase storms and so-forth.
We as humans are obsessed with strange anomalies and the unknown, and that's kinda what Nope is about.
The movie starts out feeling a bit like a slow-burn, not quite revealing what it's all about until partway through the film; and even then the film leaves a lot up for interpretation so some of the things may fly over one's head whereas it generates discussion for others.
Nope is another solid Jordan Peele flick. I loved Get Out, Us and now this one. I love how despite each of his films embody the horror genre that each of them feel so distinct and unique from one another.
Peele has an edge for social commentary and there's a lot that can be said here towards society's knack for sensationalism.
Overall loved this film, my second favorite 2022 release so far right next to Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Enjoyment mileage may vary depending on the type of film watcher. To some out may be too bleak if they're looking for straight answers to everything; but to others, it will be a fun time with lots of thought to behold.
Passangers. This movie kinda made me think if i was in the same position as the protagonist of this movie...would i do the same as he did....revive a chick just to keep him company and maybe something more? Even if that puts her thru the misery he is experiencing?
Another great K-horror survival drama series on Netflix. One of the best zombie survival stories I've seen. It captures the feeling of survival horror you get from watching 28 Days Later or Train to Busan, or from playing the early Resident Evil games. The story is very gripping from episode to episode. Only issue is that it's a bit too long, 12 episodes at about 1 hour each, or else it would be a 9/10 show if it was a bit shorter. Looking forward to Season 2.
Speaking of Resident Evil, this show almost feels like a Resident Evil adaptation set in a Korean high school. There's quite a few things in the series that reminds me of the early RE games... Either way, it's a way better Resident Evil adaptation than all of the movies and shows with "Resident Evil" in the title. This is how you do it.
