Did either of you read any of the comments in the link? Talk about loving your fellow man.
Even though she is ignorant, she didn't get fired, her fellow colleagues backing her up saying it was a stutter whereas it clearly wasn't. I heard she has done this before and she didn't get fired, just fined. She is now trying to make an excuse saying that she was trying to pronounce the Knicks and Lakers together, smh.
Only one person knows the true intent of her words but society is at time in which it is has the ist/ism card on standby just waiting to be pulled and that is quite the sad yet truthful commentary on society of today. People are perpetually offended over the slightest of things.
Yes I agree, society has turned way too uptight nowadays. But intentionally saying the N word is inexcusable.
But NO ONE KNOWS if she intended to say that, or even if that's what she said. It's entirely plausible she said Knickers. It sounds EXACTLY like the N word. Haven't you ever tripped up your words before, especially in public speaking? Knicks and Lakers are both basketball teams, and she was reading basketball news, so she very easily could have gotten two teams mixed up. It happens. I once told someone "How is you going?" because my brain wanted to say "How are you?" and "How's it going" at the same time, so "How is you going?" is what came out.
Now, if she was caught off camera with her mic on going, "Bunch of people crying over a n*," then sure. Cast your aspersions. But just ask yourself this: with SO MANY people watching the news, do you think she honestly INTENTLY meant to say the N word? On live TV, knowing she would be publicly assaulted and fired? Who is that brazen?
