Just watched American History X

Just finished it! Another cracking low budget movie. Was quite a strong end, overall pretty moving. Today score will be 4.2/5.

If you don't watch that movie and aren't moved then your a nazi.....

I upped my shawshank to 4.3 from 3.5. Anyway bits of shawshank are just too unrealistic. Like tunneling through serveral metres of concrete unnoticed, smashing sewerage pipes then crawling though them, and why did the sewage pipe flow into a small river? The whole business thing was a joke, it was almost like a spoof movie. Even finding that box at the wall at the end would have been next to impossible, but he does it first time. The guards can be brutal in prison, so i've read, but i doubt they would get away with that kind of violence / murder for 20 years, prisoners can talk to their lawyers. Few other things about it. There was enough sentimentality to hold it together. I might downgrade Shawshank to a 3.7 due to lack of realism.

It's a movie... do you know what percentage of movies are fake and unrealistic? 99% of them, at least.

I wasn't moved, but that's because I'm rarely moved by movies.

I thought it was racist trash, it paints white people as violent and all racist. The movie was trashStatixE

The ending shocked me....really caught me offguard. Although I thought the curb stomp scene wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.....I was really nervous about watching it after all the things people had said about itzepman71

It wasn't the scene itself that made me cringe, but the thought of all my teeth breaking like that...

It was a good movie, imo.

That curb stomp makes my teeth flinch, and thats not even supposed to be possible.

I liked the movie. However I do have a major gripe with it. I think it may glamourise the life of a skinhead slightly(showing them to have exciting lifes)

Side note : Cannot remember the source but some black campaigner didn't like the portrayel of black people in the movie citing the scene at the end end where he gets shot. He said something along the lines "It shows black people to be gangsters carring guns to school" which I thought was funny considering its portrayel of white people in the game.

I don't think it glamorized the skinhead culture.. I mean, they did show one getting raped in a prision shower. :lol:

The black thing is just ridiculous.
