Amidst Trump's recent TrumpTapes/"hot mic" scandal, Voight goes on a tirade against fellow actor Robert DeNiro and "Republican turncoats" such as John McCain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Condoleezza Rice, and much more.

Entire tirade below (because GS and Twitter don't embed well for me for some reason):

I am so ashamed of my fellow actor Bobby DeNiro's rant against Donald Trump. What foul words he used against a presidential nominee, who has worked harder then any other man I know in the past year and a half to get a good message to the American people.

I don't know of too many men who haven't expressed some sort of similar sexual terms toward women, especially in their younger years. Donald Trump's words were not as damaging as Robert DeNiro's ugly rant. Trump's words did not hurt anyone. Can you imagine if any Republican said words like Robert DeNiro used - against Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama? All hell would break loose.

I am calling for all Trump supporters to express their outrage and anger against DeNiro and all of the Republican turncoats against Trump. Let Donald Trump know we are completely behind him, and may God give him the strength to continue his calling.

actually, the "Republican Turncoats" thing bothers me the most. I think if there's any unity among Independent voters, it's our hatred for Red vs Blue politics. That hurts us more than any one politician ever will, the cabals within our own government acting to their own advancement.

Who cares what any actor has to say regardless of position? They have an opinion as valid as mine, yours and anyone else on this board or in the country. Being a Hollywood "elite" doesn't make your opinion hold any more H2O.

we've got one thread attacking obama and you attacking De Niro here with respect to Trump's latest controversy. Seems the goal is to prove that everyone else is just as bad, but what's the point in that?

They're all turncoats, the RNC has stopped mailing for Trump, many republicans have unendorsed him and called for him to drop out of the race (including McCain and Condoleezza Rice), and even Tump's VP Pence wouldn't defend him after his recent hot mic video going so far as to cancel his showings at campaign events.

There's no doubt that it's getting hard out there for a Trump supporter.

I do wonder, who is the smarter person?

One who sees their ship sinking and gets into the lifeboats or those that sees it sinking and yet tie themselves to the mast.

Wait, who did DeNiro actually hurt with his words? A presidential nominee? Is that some sort of royalty that is beyond reproach now? I like Voight's work but get a grip grandpa. I'm sure DeNiro is losing sleep over disappointing John LOL ?

Once Trump ends up losing I am kinda curious what the Republican Party will become. I think over the next 4 years we are going to see a shift in their top players and some sort of rebuilding/rebranding. This Trump debacle has split the group right down the middle currently.

Voight is still around? Guy hasn't really been a positive presence for quite a few years. Last OK movie he did was National Treasure, and that wasn't even that great.

Let them fight among themselves. They earned it. They created the rhetoric, hostile divisiveness, and championed the anti-intellectualism that gave rise to figures like Palin and Trump.
