End of an era, don't you think?

I'm not privy to the legacy of Joe Paterno. Why would him being fired be considered the end of an era?
RexerBot
He had the most wins of any coach in college football history. He's been the head coach at Penn State since 1966. Whenever sports fans think Penn State, the first person to come to mind is always Joe Paterno.

I live and breath sports. He needed to go. He was a legend but what has transpired well overshadows that now and he needs to stop being glorified because of it.[QUOTE="JML897"][QUOTE="RexerBot"]

I don't think he'll be bragging about it from now on. :PNot morally....perhaps legally. The man did everything he was required to do and he was fired for it

He did what was required on every single level
He was told of something wrong and told the people who's jobs are to deal with it
That was the end of what he needed to do, he's the *#&@# football coach and that's it.

Again that is legally. That is not, however, morally. And the university has the right to hire who they want to hire. Which means if they find fault with the behavior of an employee they no longer have to continue employment. It's that simple. Though I find that knowing what is going on but telling the dude to keep it off campus makes Paterno disgusting.Though I find that knowing what is going on but telling the dude to keep it off campus makes Paterno disgusting.LJS9502_basicyes LJS and I may disagree on some things but not this.

2. He told the people in charge, it was their job to call the police
Again, he is the football coach
he made the wrong career choice, the bishop of kansas city robert finn got to keep his job after being indicted this year for covering for child molesters

I was not asking anyone else to laugh along with me, but I still chuckled at reading that phrase in 'your voice' ITT
