Israeli intelligence officials fear that top-secret information that has been exposed to the United States will be leaked to Russia—and from Russia to its close ally, Iran.

Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration as the next president of the United States is causing Israeli intelligence officials to lose sleep as well. Discussions held in closed forums recently raised fears of a leakage of Israeli intelligence top-classified information, clandestine modus oprandi and sources, which have been exposed to the American intelligence community over the past 15 years, to Russia – and from there to Iran.

The cause of concern are the suspicions of unreported ties between the president-elect or his associates and the Kremlin, whose agents are also associated with intelligence officials in Tehran.

These fears, which began upon Trump’s election, grew stronger following a meeting held recently between Israeli and American intelligence officials (the date of the meeting is not mentioned to protect the sources of the report).

Source.

Israel has one of the world most reliable intelligence services.

@loco145: Israel has one of the most hardcore and willing-to-do-anything intelligence services as well...not just reliable. If they are legitimately frightened of a Trump-Russia friendship, I would be scared of Israel being scared because they might start to act like a cornered animal.

They are all alone over there.

@sSubZerOo: it wasn't pity I was trying to imply. But yeah you are right lol, if anything they try to play the victim card given their A.) history of persecution and B.) being a religious and ethnic minority in the region.

well, they always let conservatives play that "we love Israel most" card, they played right along; they made this bed, they can sleep in it

Trump will probably spoon feed Russia everything they want to know about anything, who in turn could turn around and give that info to others like Iran

Netanyahu won't care because settlements.

Still, it's interesting to see the widening divide between the Israeli security establishment and the Netanyahu government. He denounced the Iran nuclear deal, former heads of Mossad and Shin Bet endorsed it. The IDF recently convicted an Israeli soldier of manslaughter for killing an already incapacitated Palestinian assailant who attacked another soldier, but Netanyahu wants to pardon him. And now this.

Wonder if a similar thing might happen during the Trump administration?

I don't blame them. I don't like Trump's interest in Putin or Russia.

Except that Israels gets all kinds of intelligence from Russia and Putin. The Mossad has a relationship with Russia/USSR intelligence services going back ... well, honestly, since 48.

Israel doesn't share intelligence unless there is something in it for them. So they'll share .... when it suits their needs. Until then, they'll play dumb and string along the Americans. Just like they do to every other intelligence agency in the world.

But Israel is right to worry, it's a messy little love triangle Trump's got going on. While he's more amiable to right wing Israelis, his closeness with Russia, who's allied with Iran is cause for concern for sure.

Netanyahu is a whimpering child, it is hilarious that Obama is seen as "tarnishing the relationship" while oking some 34 billion to go to Israel during this time.. It pretty much seems like Netanyahu is only happy when the US president is licking his boots.

I actually preferred Obama's stance with Israel. I have no problem with them being an ally, but so many past politicians have essentially given them unconditional support at the cost of our own security/well being.

Complete military hegemony? Really? A nation, hemmed in on all 4 sides, with a group of maybe 10 million up against hundreds of millions who want them all dead and out of their country. I am no supporter or Netanyahu, his ultra right wing government, or their settlement destruction and encroachment. But to pretend as if Israel is dominating others is asinine. If you lived on a country bordering Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, would you feel safe?
