I am a christian but I was never actually baptized. My parents wanted me to choose whether or not I wanted to be baptized.

Am I going to hell? This really worries me sometimes.

Well it is said by many religions that baptism is required to go to heaven.. However we don't know how God will Judge exactly. If you live a good life he could very wel let you in to heaven. But Baptism is very easy, and I mean it's a really big step in the faith, so why not get baptized.

If you strongly believe in your christian believes then you should go and talk to your priest about getting baptised. Theres absolutly no age limit to getting baptised.

your parents do not have to baptise you to be considered a catholic, You can have the choice most parent do it after birth however. You can choose to renounce it and not follow catholicism anymore.

You can get baptized at any age. But aside from that your parents could have still baptized you but if you didnt want to be Chrisitan all you would of had to do was not get Confirmed.

I don't think many seriously assert that you go to hell if you aren't baptised... and the ones who do would have a rather difficult time reconciling that view with the myriad verses in the Bible in which going to heaven is mentioned without any mention of baptism whatsoever.

Of course, there's no age limit on it if you're really concerned. But from what I understand it's basically considered purely symbolic, a statement and expression of faith, but most certainly not a requirement of faith.

If you're going to follow the religion and partake in the church then it's required to baptized. Just speak to a priest about it and he should set you up.

Get baptized than. Either way so long as you believe Jesus died for your sins, you're good. :) But do it anyway.

Where in the Bible does it say that you must be baptised before going to heaven?

I can point to numerous verses that implicitly say you don't.

[QUOTE="GabuEx"]

harashawn

Please do, it would help a lot.

Well, there's the most famous Bible verse of all, John 3:16:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Unless it's impossible to believe in Jesus without being baptized, this is already a point against the necessity of baptism.

There's also Matthew 25:34-40:

"Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."

Again, unless someone needs to be baptised before they can do this, this makes it sound an awful lot like God doesn't require you to be baptised.

There are other verses as well, but I think this is probably enough. The fact of the matter is that there's no scriptural basis for the idea that baptism is a requirement for salvation. It's a symbolic expression of faith, and as such, it can't hurt, but it most certainly is not something that someone will go to hell for having not received, at least according to the Bible.

This is a decision only you can make really... If you think it will help do it if not then don't worry, the safest bet is to get baptised, the old just in case baptisim. I'm an atheist so i'm not the best qualified to comment though.

It was different for me. When I was baptized, I wasn't dipped in water, but in a bunch of flower pedals. It confuses me as to why, but I dont think that if you live your life as a good Christian anything bad will happen.

But I'm agnostic, so I don't care about baptizm as all.
