I am a christian but I was never actually baptized. My parents wanted me to choose whether or not I wanted to be baptized.
Am I going to hell? This really worries me sometimes.

[QUOTE="EndGame2009"]Well..if your parents didn't have you baptized, does this mean you CHOSE to be Christian?harashawn
Yep.
Well then, I don't think it's ever too late to get baptized, it's all up to you bud.
i think only catholiccism is the only religion where you cant choose to be baptized, they do it anyways.Xeros606
your parents do not have to baptise you to be considered a catholic, You can have the choice most parent do it after birth however. You can choose to renounce it and not follow catholicism anymore.
I don't think many seriously assert that you go to hell if you aren't baptised... and the ones who do would have a rather difficult time reconciling that view with the myriad verses in the Bible in which going to heaven is mentioned without any mention of baptism whatsoever.
Of course, there's no age limit on it if you're really concerned. But from what I understand it's basically considered purely symbolic, a statement and expression of faith, but most certainly not a requirement of faith.

Get baptized than. Either way so long as you believe Jesus died for your sins, you're good. :) But do it anyway.
yes, ur going to a hot firly hell :P
i don't think so, i think as long as u don't eat the ucurist u will be fine. my family is cathlic but my mom doesn't go to church when she does she doesn't eat it.
i'm not cathlic i beleave in god but i dont' go to church/ pray.
[QUOTE="solo-chaos"]u know i used to think of that exact same problem bu then my parents just told me if u believe and are a good christian than it really doesn't matter if u got baptized it's just a symbloic ritualharashawn
But how can we be sure?
Where in the Bible does it say that you must be baptised before going to heaven?
I can point to numerous verses that implicitly say you don't.

harashawn
Please do, it would help a lot.
Well, there's the most famous Bible verse of all, John 3:16:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Unless it's impossible to believe in Jesus without being baptized, this is already a point against the necessity of baptism.
There's also Matthew 25:34-40:
"Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Again, unless someone needs to be baptised before they can do this, this makes it sound an awful lot like God doesn't require you to be baptised.
There are other verses as well, but I think this is probably enough. The fact of the matter is that there's no scriptural basis for the idea that baptism is a requirement for salvation. It's a symbolic expression of faith, and as such, it can't hurt, but it most certainly is not something that someone will go to hell for having not received, at least according to the Bible.

Yep.
Then you probably should be baptize, I mean whats stopping you?
Well if you're going to hell I must be too, but seriously, while baptism helps, i don't think it's nessasary in order to be christian, only the fundies will tell you that.123625
But if you are a Christian you will obey the word of God and get Baptize.
