Is Scientologist a new religion or what ?

All these Hollywood stars and Scientologist. What is this ? A new religion based on science ? Can someone break it down ? I've even seen some starts like the king of queens lady report wars in the church due to this ? What is it ? I'm seeing more and more on this on all kinds of sites.

Best steer clear of them

1. It's only a religion because then the 'church' doesn't have to pay taxes. It has nothing to do with religion.
2. It has nothing to do with science, only pseudo science.
3. It's a scam.

It's a religion started by a guy who previously told people they can get rich by starting a religion.
