I apologize to people when I **** things up or cause ****. I usually mess things up accidentally but I always try and apologize but I know some people do not like apologizing... I do not do it to redeem myself but make them know I feel bad and would take things back if I could. In my opinion you can never take back what has happened already. I guess an example is slavery in the United States as well as segregation... We can not take that back, it is our history. I would like to apologize to all Native Americans, Blacks, Jews, Women, and anyone-else my ancestors ( I do not know my ancestors but whatever) may have harmed because DNA imo translates some of the mentality which is why we inherit some mental characteristics. I am sorry to anyone that I hurt in my own stupidity as well as people who think I did something when I did not (a couple people do) but I accept responsibility for what I have done. Is apologizing to people a form of weakness? I am usually nice to people but I hurt people online or let people down offline. Also I annoy people. Is it a form of weakness?
Being able to give a sincere apology for something YOU have done wrong is not weakness. However, aplogizing for something your ancestors, or anyone else for that matter, may have done is worthless. You didn't do it, you owe no one an apology. You can express sorrow for what happended, but saying you are sorry and apologizing are two different things.
If you apologize because you are genuinely in the wrong, then it is a form of strength. If you apologize simply to avoid confrontation then it can be a weakness.

Apologies don't mean anything. They don't change or take back what was said or done. Also, most apologies are made because of embarrassment or pressure, and aren't genuine.
Yeah I am weak though and skinny (though I have been getting fat lately), I actually like being skinny but society does not like skinny guys added to the fact my appearance is bad. I feel like my purpose in life is to make it better for others, make others better in comparison to me. I have already a vivid picture of how I will turn up. Do you feel bad at all? I know people do not like receiving apologies because they feel like the person is doing it to make himself/herself feel better but I do not do that, I do not forget the sins I have collectively obtained. I try to forgive others when they are ****s to me because I can not remember everyone who messed with me.

Thats why I feel bad about apologizing even after I do it because I know they do not take it seriously. I know people are evil and I am filled with hate do not get me wrong, its a survival of the fittest world we inhabit.
Please don't listen to anyone who thinks that apology is bad. Only excessive apology is.
Your desire to apologize to people is incredibly admirable, and should only be suppressed if it lets jerks get what they want. The ability to sincerely apologize to others when you've truly done wrong is something that a lot of people lack. Remorse is quite rare these days. It's a gift in my view, so appreciate it.
Don't be hard on yourself, though; it's not like you intended to hurt all of your ancestors. Move on, and make sure you treat people nicely from now on. That's the only reasonable path.
I just say sorry because too many people get butt-hurt, and start crying over the silliest things. Like if I walk into someone, I be like "ops, sorry", or even if they walk into me.

this notion that people should apologize for what their ancestors did or may have done is pretty ridiculous though. saying i have some connection to those atrocities is pretty insulting. i demand an apology.

Apologizing because you fear what they or others may think of you aka the public apology is cowedly. Apologizing because you admit you ****ed up isn't. Apologizing on behalf of other people you're not responsible for like the race example you give is insulting, it makes it look like you're trying to elevate yourself to a position of responsibility and authority.

Apologize to the people you care about and don't apologize to the ones whom you know will not care.
Not at all. If you intentionally or unintentionally hurt someone in any form than simply apologize (dont just say it, MEAN IT). It is in fact strength, not weakness. But if your apologizing to people left and right for things you don't need to apologize for than you have a different problem which is probably fear of man in which case you need to man up and apologize when its appropriate. But to know what to apologize for you need someone to tell you when and when not to apologize... you can't make up the rules for this the rules are already there.
It depends on what you do Honestly. I think if you say your sorry for trivial things, then yes. But if you did something really bad, then it's not weakness, it's you realizing your wrongdoings.

It can make you look weak. My friend's mum tried phoning him for an hour but the calls didn't come through for an hour. When they spoke his mum was furious (ridiculously over protective) as she thought he was ignoring her on purpose and he was apologizing non-stop as though it was his fault, and it looked completely pathetic.
