That was actually one of the best martial arts movies I've seen in a long while. I think there is a part 2 but can't seem to find it.

That was actually one of the best martial arts movies I've seen in a long while. I think there is a part 2 but can't seem to find it.

Yes I've owned the movie for a while now and indeed it is very good. The sequel Ip Man 2 has not hit the theatres yet but it will in a little over a week from now so hopefully it will make it's way to the States soon.

Looks good. I wonder what the martial arts world before this stuff happened was like.

Ip Man's based off a true story, like Bruce Lee's Chinese Connection/Jet Li's Fist of Legend and Jet Li's Fearless were. Ip man takes place during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Communism became the government policy of China around the 1920s and with that came outlaws of a lot of things, including martial arts. I'm wondering what was hidden away.
