Change is inevitable and necessary in order to move forward, but damn I miss the old days on gamespot especially collecting emblems O_o. Which one was your favorite?

Feels great checking out the forums after so many years. What's up!

@thegreatwizzo: yeah it sounds crazy but the internet was a lot smaller back then, cozier and more neighborhood like. The whole anonymity aspect of the internet hadn't gone to peoples' heads, either, I think people were nicer back then.

Ah emblems. Wouldn’t mind seeing those return.

2009 wasn’t the early days (if going by the picture)... It is a big difference before and after Facebook became popular imo.

It's weird how Gamespot removed some emblems but not all. I had way more than 2 back in the day. I liked how you could pick themes as well. I had a cool ice theme rocking through until they did a site change.

Oh ya was referring to 1999.

Remember? Back when we had multiple search engines. Lycos, Ask Jeeves, Yahoo, Alta Vista....was google even a thing back then?

Limewire, Napster....

DIAL UP! Oh man, I sometimes almost forget that dial up was a thing. Me playing Team Fortress Classic on my 33.6 modem for hours, my parents wondering why no one has called on the phone for half a day...

I remember going to my buddy's house (he had internet before me) and looking up porn for the first time.

God, the sounds, too.

Oh dial up. We never had that, as we got internet connection fairly late. Friends had it and I remember the sound of it.

I remember using google, alta vista and yahoo. Limewire was something. When it was a thing here, I think the laws here stated that only the uploaders were breaking the law, not the downloaders.
