Every now and then we all get a nightmare. Well lately I've been getting them ALOT. The other day I woke up with this long bleeding scratch on my side after having a nightmare. I have no idea how I got it. I do not sleep with anything that can make me bleed, let me alone anything sharp. I dont have long nails either. They're very short and cant do anything like this. And just last night I woke up with a red burning scratch on my left arm after another nightmare. I don't know whats going and what I can do. Help.

Try wearing long sleeves and see what happens. If they are still there, maybe ask a doctor.

Maybe try wearing gloves? If that doesn't work, then you will know it isn't your hands causing the problem.

Im pretty sure already that my hands are not the problem. Like I said, my nails aren't that long and strong enough to make me bleed.

Well it wouldn't hurt to make sure. Do you sleep with any animals? Also there is a possibility you got bit by a bug or spider and it created an allergic reaction or something like that.

Well maybe there is some loose springs in your mattress. Not sure how you would get a burn from that though. And worst case senario is you could be sleep walking.

Do what the other's suggest. Wear long sleeves and try gloves. Give your bed a good look over too, if it's not anything on that then maybe it's a demon or something like the other poster suggested. Or maybe your nightmares are so vivid you do these things to yourself and not even know it regardless of your nails.

even if you don't have long or sharp nails you could still scratch yourself if you're having a nightmare.

if you're really worried then go talk to your doctor.

i'm pretty sure you scratch yourself in your sleep.

Check your finger nails for skin or blood. Make sure your door is shut and no animals are in the room. Lock it if possible. What are the nightmares about?

Stop that. You aren't sure of anything. You ask for advice, you get logical advice, and then you try to shoot it down with the "I'm pretty sure" argument.

Wear gloves to bed. If you have scratches in the morning, at least you know your hands aren't the problem.

Possibly bug bites that are coincidentally occurring during a period in which you're having a lot of nightmares?

well for one set up a video camera,

Lock your door or atleast bar it up with something like a chair from the inside,

wear long sleeve shirt and gloves,

check your bed thoroughly for anything sharp even a zipper can cut you,

Do this every night for a week after the last time anything bad happened.
