If you could choose when you were born in history...

What year would you choose? Where would you be born? What life would you lead?

Me, I'd want to be born in 1880's British Colonial India. There, I could enjoy the wealth of the British Empire in a time free of wars, and become a big game hunter. By the time the Great War would break out, I'd be 34. At that age, I'd either be able to avoid the draft altogether, or perhaps get a position that wasn't in the trenches, allowing me to survive the war. Then the 1920's would roll around, when I would move to America. Being in my 40's at this point, I'd most likely be able to amass great wealth with the booming economy, and would get to enjoy the rise of the automobile and film first hand. Hopefully around the time the depression hit, I'd have at least some financial security. From there, I'd weather through and witness the Depression and the Second World War from the comfort of my old age, and die peacefully in the prosperity to follow.

1850's, upper class, except I would fall in love with a common girl and we will make our way to ireland to live a life of farmers, but get caught up in a civil war that takes place in our potato patch, so we must flee to America where we start a new life in the land of opportunity. I become a prized fist fighter while she becomes a whore, just for a little while to make money. Eventually we end up with the wrong crowd and find ourselves having to flee the big city. We ride out on horses until we eventually come across a friendly rancher who takes us in overnight. We repay our services by helping out in the farm, little did they know we are both wanted by the government officials and the underground syndicate.

But yeah, 1850's were a great time for a life of adventure.

As long as I was born into a rich family I wouldn't care what year.

I wish I could've had my teenage years during the 1980's.

Late 1960's

Obviously so I could experience the 80's first hand and pull off an amazing looking mullet

Probably somewhere in the 1300s or around 4.B.C. or33 A.D.

Born in 1960 so I could re-live the awesomeness of the 70s and 80s the proper way. then i would be rich and prosperous throughout the "now" days and enjoy all this technology.

Ancient Greece, I would live like a king with today's knowledge.

The dawn of the industrial revolution would be a cool thing to witness/experience IMO, so I'll go with that.

Wish i could be a teenager in either the 60's,70's,or 80's(doesn't really matter). I would also i freaking loved to be in the roaring 20's and be a bootlegger and feel like a boss8).F0urTwenty

I was content with growing up in the 90's. But to be honest, any time in history other than now would be suffice.

I'd choose the 1950s
I would find/stalk and befrend a man by the name of Bill Gates, waste him an create microsoft.
Than 10 years later I would invest all my money into the dot com boom and I would create google, and myspace in the mid 90s also.

Than retire.

1980, into a super rich family. Why? So I could live through the awesome time of music, gaming, and general life called the 90s as an older child.. 8) :P

I think California during the mid- to late-1800s would be pretty slick; Goldrush era. I'd get some land, open up a general store and a brewery, make a killing selling overpriced equipment and cheap beer to all the poor sods working their butt off.

I'd also own an opium den/bordello full of all the Chinese women you could desire.

Really hard to say. Most people's lives were pretty rough for the majority of human history. I enjoy living in a lawful society and not being a repressed peasant.

I would probably want to be born in the last couple of decades at such a time that when I hit my 20s the economy was booming. I like living now but it really sucked finishing college in the middle of a recession.

500 years in the future, when (hopefully) we'd have mastered nuclear fusion and reaped the benefits an atheistic cultural revolution.
