whatyya think ma pees.hell_blazer899
first, what a strange dichotemy between your Thread Title and your first post...
intelligent question --> virtually unintelligible post.
Anyway, here's the answer... LINK
For those that don't want to click the link, here's an exerpt:
"An atheist who is open about his world views as regards faith or religion would normally make an affirmation, which would have the same force in law as an oath. If an atheist chose to take an oath, without revealing his or her beliefs, then the oath would be binding in law."
Anyone can choose to take the oath, not just atheists.

hows that unintelligent? I'm assuming you dont like how 'us' playas talk. learn to embrace, son.
Having sat in on many a court case, the short answer is no.
If you're religious, you say: "I swear upon the almight God that what I say shall be be truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth."
Conversely, if you're not religious, you say: "I swear that what I say shall be be truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth."
Simple really.
I don't know.
Maybe it isn't considered a direct swear to the Lord in such cases, and merely a promise to tell the truth an authority figure.
It's really meant to represent that you're under oath in court, isn't it?

Church is not a requirement for belief in God. Besides, I'm sure some people go.

I imagine they would just substitute the Bible with a copy of the Origin of Species.domatron23

If you believe God is the creator you go to Church, otherwiseyou have a screw loose or you are a hypocrite.
"Nobody" in colloqial English means hardly anyone notable.
Ask someone in England what they feel about about 50% of Americans are Christians, they usually say "that's unnerving" or "bloody hell buy a nuclear fallout shelter!" thank god I live in a Christian fearing nation not a God fearing nation.
Well, the government's foundations were build off faith in God so I would assume so. :)LikeHaterade

I honestly did not know what he meant until I re-read it a few times. All I'm saying is that I found it funny that he posted in perfect English, and then in street slang.
And then in my reply I was merely commenting on how funny trying to sound tough on a video game forum is. I mean, this isn't a room in an online SOCOM game. Seems out of place, is all.
No need to get snarky.

Nope. All those people in churches are actually cardboard cut-outs.[QUOTE="LikeHaterade"]Well, the government's foundations were build off faith in God so I would assume so. :)Teh_Solid_Snack
USA: believe what you want, but God was the only choice back then :P
Britain: After Civil War the puritans (damn them! lul) ie. Cromwell wanted things like theater to be outlawed etc.

Believing in god does NOT mean you have to go to church, that's rediculous. Where in the bible does it say you have to go to church and hear one person's most likely biased interpretation of the bible, or else you are not allowed to believe in god?

Thats not true. God is abstract, and not always connected to the church. The idea of God existed before churches were made
