I befriended a prostitute on valentine's day, and I think I got her pregnant... so... I was wondering if anyone knows what my responsibilities are if she is pregnant. Thanks.

It's only been 3 days so I highly doubt the TC is being honest...in the small chance it's legit here are the the basics:

1) Regardless if you leave the state, if she wants to keep it legally she can come after you for child support.

2) Failing to pay child support can become a criminal matter (ie you can spend time in jail).

3) Beyond financial, legally you have no other responsibilities. You do have rights though, so even if she didn't want you to see the kid unless she had legal reasons (ie you are violent, drug addict, etc) she cannot stop you. If she tries you can petition the court and an arrangement will be made by the court.

For real advice though, I'd talk to a lawyer.

Considering how it's only been 3 days since Valentine day, TC is definitely bullshiting us.

However, I'm amused that some people seemed to take TC seriously.

Actually some test are pretty accurate even within days of the first missed period (which can be a couple weeks, not months). Beyond that some women know almost immediately when they get pregnant. My wife, for instance, knew literally in days she was pregnant with both of our children. She basically felt her body change (probably hormones or something).

Not saying the TC is being truthful, but it is possible.

@donquixote: I'm thinking that's a horrible thing to do. That prostitute might have a kid, and if she does, you will avoid facing the responsibilities with that kid and basically leave them both with your mistake. If she decides to keep the kid, the mother most likely will face hardships with raising him/her.
