I don't understand the appeal to Animal Collective.

Is it because their music is weird? Is it because I'm not on acid while listening? They just sound so awful. Oh and I know other people have different taste so don't be boring and tell me why you like them.

They're not for everybody, I quite frankly don't see the appeal either.

I like the style of music (freak-folk), Merriweather Post Pavilion was pretty catchy and unique.

They're very inconsistent in the quality of their music, so some songs are just offputting, and others are fun and quirky.

Songs like Fireworks, Did You See The Words, Summertime Clothes, and The Purple Bottle are great.

Songs like Taste, Who Could Win A Rabbit, and Chores are pretty rough.

It's just finding the songs I like and sticking with them. They're a polarizing band though, and if you're not a fan of quirky happy music, you probably won't like them much.

I agree they're inconsistent but when they're good, they are really good. My Girls is maybe my favorite track of the decade.
