I don't like the new direction of Big Bang Theory...

Original 5 was much better. Now they are making girlfreinds take over the show and making them main characters. hell even sheldon has a girlfriend , stupid idea. they are making sheldon have feelings and dumb bs like that. i wouldnt be surprised if next seaosn he tells amy he loves her and wants to have sex.

It's not as bad as some people on here like to portray it, but the humor is lame and the laugh track is... well, laughable.

There are many other better comedy shows to watch.

I meant just on this forum lol. I feel like it's THE only comedy worth watching nowadays. How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, and others all suck compared to BBT IMO. It has much better dialogue and developed characters.

It's got terrible dialogue. There aren't even any real jokes, they just put a laugh track after every "geeky" word.

And there are so many better comedies... Community, Parks and Rec, Archer, Always Sunny, Louie, 30 Rock, Modern Family...

As already has been said, every show that dares to change stuff and isn't the same stuff episode after episode deserves at least a little bit respect. And I actually do like the changes. It makes everything more interesting and varied.

I doubt anyone would want another Al Bundy :P

Not really, there's a lot of science fiction and nerdy references that not many people would get and Sheldon has lots of great lines. I agree about the laugh track though.

And for the other comedies, I meant the more popular/mainstream ones like HIMYM and Two and a Half Men. I've only seen Archer and Always Sunny out of the ones you've mentioned and those are good too.

Leonard and Penny were a pretty unbelievable couple. They have absolutely nothing in common.

That's good to hear lol. I know it has its share of flaws and I can see why not everyone likes it, but I think it has some witty dialogue and well-developed characters. It's definitely better than most mainstream sitcoms, like How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men.

I also quite enjoy BBT. And I enjoy what they have been doing. If they had continued in the direction they were headed, things would have gone stale rather fast. I am a bit disappointed with how they are changing P into an alcoholic. She always seems to be drinking or drunk. Sure SC has a 'gf', but he really doesn't. He just enjoys AFFs company.

BBT is one of my, and my wife's, favorite shows. New Girl has taken the lead in the comedy department though. Great show.

I think that it was the only natural progression in the storyline. You have to have character progression, otherwise you have the same gag over and over. Since it had to go somewhere, they moved to what it is today. Plus the extra characters ad extra opertunities to add conflict, advancing the story further.
