As the title says, do you live in a decent good hood with no heavy Crimes or heavy Police activities?

I live in Atlanta GA suburb area, my hood is safe, we have no gangs or gang wars but we do have like 2 druggies homes just to make a living, few Prostitution and they don't bother anyone else to start a crime robbery. I live in a decent populated area where we hardly get any heavy crimes and hardly any police driving through the hood either so my area is safe.

There was a murder right in front of my place 2 years ago. Just an exception, we don't get many murders in Quebec city usually

Very safe, if we don't count dumb drivers crashing at the cross road.

pretty safe. i've gone for walks around my neighborhood leaving my garage door wide open without any concerns.

one of my neighbor's kids deals weed from their basement but other than that the only "crime" there seems to be in my neighborhood is when the landscapers prune a person's flowers by mistake.

Very safe. Criminal wise that is. Only thing we need to worry about is the massive oil refinery next door going kaboom.

Most folk don't bother me, however when it comes to weekends, which usually means drunk teenagers, I don't take the dogs as it's a magnet for half-wits.

I live in a sophisticated neighbourhood.Very safe from criminals, yet burgulary happens if one is not careful. But neighbour boys are snobbish, they only want to mix with other rich/good looking boys and girls but not me :(

Criminal wise, pretty safe. Though if I slip and my friends figure out I'm an exmuslim I will get thrown in prison or even killed... so not completely safe

Same here. My neighbor sometimes leaves his garage door open overnight with tool and socket sets, air compressors, power saws in plain sight. No one messes with them.

We have a desert climate. So, there aren't many people outside when it's hot. But, there are a lot more people playing or exercising once it cools down, early morning and dusk especially.

I done that a few times, left my garage door open when I'm cooling the car down and most of the times, I forget to close it down but thankfully, no one bothers to come in and steal something out of it.

I think my area is safe enough, I don't worry about getting mugged walking to the store. I'm more worried about getting hit by a shitty driver at a crosswalk if anything.

Besides some occasional mail theft, not much happens around here. Although there was one point less than a year after we moved in when a house was completely demolished by a gas explosion less than a mile from us. Nobody was home, but the house was completely leveled and the adjacent houses damaged as well. The place was reduced to toothpicks.

Right across the street of me is the lining of the ghetto.

It's pretty safe here. No sex offenders around this spot and no homicides. There have been a few incidents of couples fighting and vandalizing cars. Last week 3 cars were chasing each other (looks like someone got caught cheating) and they were smashing each other's cars and speeding really fast in a residential area.

What makes no sense is that we have these petty crimes in an area that costs like $2400/month to live in. I'd downgrade this area to $1400 with the way it looks.

I don't think any neighborhood is completely safe, but my neighborhood is safe enough. Suburb area, and quiet. I did leave my garage open twice by accident, and no one took anything, once for almost 2 hours. So its somewhat safe. Although you never know.

It's pretty safe. Some assholes like to race their cars on the highway, our house is on a street parallel to the highway so it can be pretty loud. And some dude was out and about with a machete in our suburb. He cut his wife up pretty bad and there was an alert out for him. I took the bus home that night, I usually walk.

A mostly new neighbourhood with houses ranging from $1M to $10M which is actually kind of odd to have that much range. Crime is non-existent. Biggest safety risk is getting run over by some idiot driving too fast in a high performance car.

I live 2 blocks north of Detroit. The trailer park from the movie 8 mile is at the end of my street. 10 years ago it wasn't a bad neighborhood. We'd get the occasional jack ass from Detroit around here committing crimes but now their moving in. 3 of my neighbors homes were broken into. My neighbors have had their cars stolen. 2 years ago I went grocery shopping at 9am and came home to find I just missed someone being in my house. By now I'm sure rumors in the hood have it I have gold bars stashed under my bed. I don't leave my house alone. I make sure someone is here 24/7. I have $5000 in video games. $10,000 in fishing equipment. $7000 in guns. My house is loaded with shit. I'm moving in a couple years. I'm sick of the degenerates around here. After the 2008 stock market crash home prices dropped. Detroiters have moved to the burbs. Heroin is now rampant around here. If I catch someone in my house they'll be sorry.

My neighborhood has a fair amount of violent crime and drugs and hookers and hobos.

But I make things safer by not talking to people. The more that you interact with scumbags, the better your chances are for those scumbags to f*** you over.

Don't lock my truck at night and forget sometimes to lock the front and/or back door and nothing's gone when I wake up in the morning. That just might mean my stuff and truck aren't worth stealing and I'm not worth killing/kidnapping/ and or raping. Always a bridesmaid never a bride, sheesh.

Safe for the most part. There's a few hobos who are for reasons unknown attracted to the area next to my garage which exits to the alley behind my house. They seem to be of the harmless variety. I put up signs that say no trespassing/loitering but I think I've overestimated their ability to read.

I looked into my area on google and it says it is a rough area especially round the town hall on a night and all pubs. I live about 3 minute walk away to nearest pub and most weekends its very noisy. Last night from 23:00 I heard shouting and screaming from an argument then swearing telling each other to F off out side my window. Then at 12AM there where signing and clapping from the pub for about 1 hour. I didn't get to sleep then till 2AM and woke at 7AM. Yesterday too there where about 20, 14 or 15 year olds hanging on wall and going up and down on motorbikes. I have had it with this area I've not had a decent night sleep for 4 years.

It all so said that 5 years ago a dad was in the park with his kids and teens where swearing and just been ass holes and the dad asked them to stop swearing around his kids in park. About 30 mins later it said a van pulled up and 4 people in mask got out and beat him up. They left him in a coma and later died. I really hate this place.

Pretty safe, I've left my car unlocked overnight a few times by accident with no consequence connected to it. But I think there has been at least one or two burglaries going on here every 5 years.

However, the place where I went to high-school has taken a huge toll and I would say its plain out dangerous to be there. I was skateboarding there one night and heard an alarm go off in the gym. I called the cops, one guy on the other end answered and asked me to hold, I stood there for 30 minutes on hold with the alarm screaming in the background and nobody picked it up. And nobody even called me the next day to see if I was okay. So anyway... I left to skate on a parking-lot which is located about 150 meters from the school. That lot seems to be some sort of meeting place for criminals. I skated there for 1,5 hours and during that time I saw three different cars (all in crappy conditions so there's no way they were security guards) come and go on four different occasions each. They parked on one end of the lot for a few minutes and then circulated the area and left. The night ended with that one of those cars parked way too close to me so I left as fast as I could and bolted home by cutting between all buildings I could think of.

@davillain-: It turned out the noise was coming from the park. I walked round it this morning and loads a beer bottles and sick every where. Discussing. No point in telling police as there is non around here. We phoned 111 up the other week as our house and 3 others where getting egged constantly. We was on hold for 35 minutes be for some one picked and 3 days later a on foot police officer came round. They took notes and said we will send more walking police round this area and make them visible. This was about 3 month back and not seen once police round our area.

111 is non emergency police and was constantly reminded on auto that if you waste police time you could be prosecuted for it. At least it was free phone.
