As you may know there is a new IT movie coming out next month. Really enjoy the book. And liked the tv 2 parter. The movie is entirely focused on the kids with a planned followup movie being about the adults. Which may not be my ideal but I deal with that. The runtime for the movie is 2 hours and 15 min. Which gives the movie some breathing room. Which you would want from an adaptation of the book. And from what I've seen this might actually be a good movie. You want the movie to be about friendship and the kids interactions and the kids themselves and they seem to have really tried to get that aspect down. Are you looking forward to the movie?

I suspect a lot is going to come down to whether or not the child actors are decent.

Don't know. Haven't seen much outside of a few teaser posters. When I first saw the original IT when I was a kid, I didn't like it nor did I watched it all the way through due to its length. Gave it another try recently and actually manage to enjoy it this time around. Hopefully, this up and coming doesn't disappoint....

Well, probably better than The Dark Tower.

I liked the original. I expect to be let down by the new one. But, I am a pessimistic person- the only way to be pleasantly surprised occasionally.

Really doubt it will be as good as the book but I'm hoping for a pretty decent horror flick. Horrors are usually stupid jump scare films nowadays. The book is actually the scariest and therefore the best book I've ever read by Stephen King. 1100+ pages and I don't think any of it was filler. There is some truly messed-up shit in that book and it makes it so fascinating to read.

Saw the trailer, another half ass "horror" movie that confuses jump scares for atmosphere.

Does an R rating rule out child orgies?

I am extraordinarily excited for It. It looks like it could easily live up to the novel/original adaptation in alot of ways. New Pennywise is seriously frightening and all the kids look like they'll do a great job. Can't wait to see the final product.

Considering this is a Stephen King movie, it will most likely suck. Pretty much all of his movies in my opinion had potential, but then he screws them up by making the story stupid.

I'm reluctant. Tim Curry was Pennywise, and that alone will take some convincing for me to accept this new clown.

It better be scary. Not seen the original and not sure how good that was.

When I saw the more ambiguous trailer, I liked what I saw. When I saw the extended scene trailer, I began having doubts.

I don't mind the switch to an 80s setting for when they're kids.

One thing I thought of after having read the book is how the symbol of the clown is a bigger presence in the book than the clown itself, the IT creature can manifest itself in many ways, often in the book you see the pom-poms on its various manifestations, I feel the need to make the clown itself a bigger character than it was in the book seems in many ways provoke by the earlier adaptation.

Anyhow, the adaptation I heard is going to be two parts, one with them as kids and the other as adults, kind of how like the mini-series was broken up. I at least like this approach, the book paralleled both parts too much and it felt redundant especially toward the end of the book.

@dave123321:

I'm 50\50 on IT being good. I think it's best to approach like as if I've never seen the original. It'll be easy this time around since there was only one IT movie, anyway.
