How does god know he's god?

How did it hit him one day that he realized he is all there is, and that he knows all there is to know? Could it be that the knowledge that he holds is just a veil that was given to him by an even greater power? Maybe god is being tricked into thinking he's the only god, by a god who is greater than him?

How could a god even know he was one? How would he realize it? Would he ever doubt his power and wonder if there IS something above him?

Cause if I was a god, I'd wonder myself..."How did I get here? And where did I get all these nifty abilities?"

You are imagining God as a person, that's the problem. He is a different kind of being.

Do you have proof he is a different kind of being? Cause if he can't even be proven to exist to begin with, how can you start to claim what "type" of being he is?

Besides, I'm just going by the christian theory that "we're all created in his image", therefore, he would be similar to a human being.

So no, none of that "/thread" crap.

But how can /thread be declared without knowing the nature of God's being? Wouldn't that fact be a rather imperative element of that argument?

this topic ended already with the /thread comment. The definition of GOD, in the sense the topic maker uses it, is being the highest thing there is. SO unless you are talking about another religion besides Christianity, Judaism, or Islam, this thread is done.

Because He is the Alpha and the Omega, nothing literally EXISTED before Him. He created space and time, etc... But yeah, just the mere thought of "eternity", and what God was doing before He created the universe is too deep for me, lol.

Holy crap, Megatron is God. Wait, if Megatron is God, and Optimus Prime is mechanical Jesus. Then Megatron would be Optimus Prime's father! But Optimus Prime and Megatron are brothers, this can only mean one thing. God is the first inbreeding hillbilly!!!

If there was, everyone would be a beliver. Atheists wouldn't exist. Also, once the evidence is made clear, faith would no longer be necessary. We would just KNOW that he's there. Yet, to this day, people still NEED faith in order to beleive in god. I wonder why. Lack of evidence maybe?

If you have the evidence, don't hold back. The whole world has been dying to see it.

Haha, there is evidence for the existance of God. You don't go to jail just because there's a tiny slim of evidence against you. The same thing goes for God and the evidence for it. There is some evidence, but not enough to prove that he exists, just that he CAN exist.

That's the silliest thing I've read yet. Just enough to insinuate that he might exist? Wouldn't that cause people to explore that little gleam a little further and therefore, find the answer? Why are we still stuck on this little sliver? Besides, there's still no way to prove that those things that make you accept that there might be a god, could be caused by something else that as of yet is completely unexplainable at this point in time.

I like discussing religion. I ask questions like this to see what kind of responses I get from different types of people. A lot of the answers are very entertaining.
