How do you drink hard liquor?

I usually only drink Jim Beam mixed with diet coke... I just cant bring myself to drink the stuff straight.

How do you drink hard liquor? Any tips on making drinking it straight more tolerable? Or other ways mixing favorites?

EDIT: I'm not really asking HOW to drink hard liquor, but HOW do YOU do it? For clarity:P

Depends on the liquor. If I'm drinking cheap vodka, I'll just have it straight out the bottle. Cheap whiskey (ie Jim Beam or worse), either bottle it or on the rocks. If I'm having something decent such as Maker's Mark, I drink it neat. I'd probably use it in mixed drinks more often but I rarely have something that's worth mixing it with. I'd rather have less liquid to drink than to dilute cheap liquor in soda or the like, it's easier to get down faster.

I'm not a huge fan of shots though, a lot of the time it doesn't go down like it should. When I sip it, I don't have to worry about it going down the wrong tube which for some reason happens a lot when I drink liquids.

Shots and chasers. I hate mixed drinks of any kind, they make me sick.

Just tell myself quickly to "man up" and throw it down. I like mixers depending on the type. The only drinks I like straight are some whiskeys, spiced rum, and only expensive tequila. Vodka and most cheap stuff I gotta through with some orange juice or something.

Depends on what the drink is. Some I can drink neat, some I just can't stomach without a mixer.

Straight or mixed, I'm a tank. :PI downed 3 shots of Jack and 2 Patron within 10 minutes one time. I was nice, but not really drunk.

I don't drink hard liquor too often but when I do I usually have a rum and coke.

Usually with something fruity or with soda. Unless everyone else is doing shots, then I don't.

It depends. I once had my vodka shot glass in my beer (English bar owner gave it to me after I said something about beer not being strong enough, that one was).

shots to start the night off...rum and coke to keep it going.

On ice, and in sips. If im doing shots then it can't be warm for me. Drinks taste best below room temp. IMO.
