How do Grey Market Resellers get their Keys?

I don't remember the last time i bought a physical copy of a game, It's all online now.

I know they get their keys from third world countries to take advantage of the price gap but you can't just buy a key from steam as it's linked to an account.

They are usually sold by third-parties through those sites. Could be keys bought with stolen credit card info.

The site itself just takes a cut, I assume.

Only go with places like Green Man Gaming or Fanatical. They are reputable sites with large support communities.

Never, ever had a problem with CDKeys. The keys aren't stolen.

One way they do it (not the only way) on steam is too bulk buy games when on sale, buying them to gift away to buyers.

When game goes off sale they can sell for profit while undercutting steams price
