How curious about death are you?

I always ponder about what happens after I die. Whether it be some process that science hasnt understood yet or some higher power deciding what happens.

I can only hope for the best. Cant prepare for the worst.

I don't often think about death, but inevitably it will come to the question of God. Have I lived according to Christ? Have I enough faith? One day I hope I will have enough courage to face death as St Ignatius of Antioch did.

I'm not curious at all. I think you just die, your consciousness ceases to exist, and that's that.

fairly curious. its fairly possible there is something after death. i mean the energy and atoms that make up you go somewhere right... maybe you linger in a smog of light dust in some way. personally i think the idea of a heaven is horrible. could you actually imagine living forever? id rather be dead forever than alive forever.

When we go to Heaven we are transformed, and will not be as we are now. So, how you look at an eternal life now would be different.

I just buried my grandfather last week. It was totally normal. I was terrified of death growing up but I have grasped an understanding after all and moved on.

I'm more worried about the cause of my death. Will I be poisoned and suffer unbearable pain causing my heart to cease pumping? Screw the death part i'll deal with that afterwards.

If it's anything like my out of body experience that one time, then I'm extremely curious to know where else death will lead you besides back to the realm we left when we chose to be reborn in this body.

Quite. I'm not really afraid of it because I'm convinced I'm invincible, but if I live to be 100 I have the time to experience as much time as I have in the history of everything I've ever known four more times. That's a pretty good deal. No matter what happens after all that, I hope before I can accept it, and be ready for it. I expect I will be, I feel lucky that I don't have to be afraid of it.

I like to believe that there is a heaven, which is why I consider myself agnostic-atheist. I don't want to die and end up locked in eternal darkness forever without even the ability to think, just, darkness. I also really want to hang out with my dad up in heaven.

I do not ponder what happens after death because it's pointless to think about it.

It is one question that will never, ever, ever, ever, ever be answered

so why fret about it?

We all die!

I'm more concerned about the removal of organs and what will be shoved in my empty spaces once my organs and useful bits are gone. I don't really believe in hell. I'm more inclined in believing in a 'heaven'-esque afterlife, limbo/purgatory, and unresting spirits than I am to believe hell exists. But logically, I know nothing will happen after I die, so I don't think about it.

When I was younger (about 10-12), I was pretty much obsessed about what happens after death (it was literally, "aw man, I wish I was an old guy so I can experience death just to see what happens." Pretty morbid, right?), guess it was the curious youngster in me. Now, as a 22 year old - don't think about it much, I just know it's going to come eventually.

meh. the thought has crossed my mind of what would happen to the people i know. would they care? would they be happy?

as for what actually happens:

to me, you will just stop living. like you know when you go to sleep, and dont have/remember your dream. it was just blackness. thats what death is like, to me.

[QUOTE="theSteeeeels"][QUOTE="jshaas"][QUOTE="theSteeeeels"]fairly curious. its fairly possible there is something after death. i mean the energy and atoms that make up you go somewhere right... maybe you linger in a smog of light dust in some way. personally i think the idea of a heaven is horrible. could you actually imagine living forever? id rather be dead forever than alive forever.

When we go to Heaven we are transformed, and will not be as we are now. So, how you look at an eternal life now would be different.

transformed into what?

When we are raptured at the second coming of Jesus, we will be transformed into our heavenly bodies with the glory of God upon us.
