In every movie I've seen, the actors are reciting poetry rather than saying what a normal person would say.

Why so unrealistic?

You need to stop watching Shakespeare films and start watching action flicks and comedies.

It's more of a drama with action just being the plot hole.

Because if they talked like normal people every movie would have 20 or 30 minutes of extra screen time because they had to add in the ums, uhs and awkward pauses that often fill normal conversations. Bad horror movies and exploitation films often have much more normal talking patterns and their painful to watch.

Oh, Fleance was Banquo's son, he was not a prince. Banquo told him to run away
To stop himself suffering the same fate at the hand of Macbeth's murderers
it would also make a really boring scene to just have him doing whatever he did after running.

It's a TV genre. Its an ongoing drama usally about the lives of everyday people (e.g. Eastenders and Coronation street).

They talk in an idealistic way, because we all wish we could say the right things at the right time. Thats my take on it anyway.

I often find myself pointing out mistakes in how people emphasize words/what words they emphasize, both on T.V. and in real life.

There are quite a few other problems that I can think of with most people's acting, but that immediately jumped out at me because it's the one that I think irritates me the most.

Actors speak in the tongues of the gods. Us mortals use a lesser dialect.
