Don't deny the awesomeness of this scene.
The show Dexter still hasnt recovered from season 2. Despite how good season 4 was.
The show is simply isnt as awesome without Doakes. He was epic.
That being said HBO is better because they have quality and quanitity. All showtime has is Dexter. Everything else sucks. Also shows on Showtime look incredibly lowbudget compared to HBO shows.
Although Dexter is my favorite current series, The Sopranos is my favorite show of all time. Also, HBO can boast having Rome, Entourage, True Blood, Curb Your Enthusiasm, John Adams, The Wire, and many other modern classics, which puts them far ahead of Showtime, IMO.

Undoubtedly HBO does have the better history of shows, just having finished The Sopranos on Netflix, I have The Wire coming in the mail this week. However, HBO first began to slip up by screwing over any chance for a fourth season of Deadwood with the flop John from Cincinnati which began right after The Sopranos ended and while HBO's ONE popular show True Blood may strike chords with a lot of people, Showtime is getting increasingly stronger. Mini-series like Band of Brothers, Generation Kill, The Pacific, and John Adams may sweeten the deal, but how often do mini series like that come? HBO may have the better history of shows, but that is no reason to keep the subscription if all you are getting now on HBO are vampires and a male prostitute. I'm getting Showtime for the Michael C Hall (former star on HBO's Six Feet Under) as Dexter the serial killer, Edie Falco (former star of HBO's The Sopranos) and Weeds. I have no idea what this medieval fantasy HBO is cooking up now, but it sounds like exactly what it is, a fantasy. Don't keep your HBO if all you are getting is crap, netflixing the dvds are a lot cheaper.
