So why work so hard for nothing? its just going to be a piece of paper that will rot away with time and no one will care.
This logic is undebatable... but you can try.

That of course assumes the finality of death in which case its more than a questiona bout college degrees.
Why bother making this topic? It's just going to get locked and then removed forever when the server gets shut down.Ace6301Yeah, why even bother having a Gamespot account. It's just gonna get banned...especially if you're a bandodger. Which I'm assuming you are. ;)
Like lustitiaMazimus said. Its not the piece of paper you earn that's going to save you from death. Its gonna give you a better life. It's about what you do with life. If you do nothing worth while what's the point?
IustitiaMaximus
That's only if you're an idiot and aren't sure what you're doing with your degree. So why work so hard for nothing? its just going to be a piece of paper that will rot away with time and no one will care.

Sure you might get something out of the classes, but the paper is just a paper. You pay $50,000 for a piece of paper, and then you don't get a job because of affirmative action.Second_HokageAffirmative action is a myth in many ways. Hiring process has a lot more to do than race and ethnicity.
 this topic doesn't even deserve a proper response :lol:chilly-chillIf you think about it, it makes sense. Why aren't I inspiring people right now?
If you enjoy your time in college then this entire argument is moot. Plus having a college degree can lead to a better job, better relationships, better stability etc. Of course if you feel that none of that is important either then I'm assuming nothing is.
[QUOTE="Wasdie"]Not too well... I'm not saying getting a job is easy, its so so hard. Especially a good job. I always try to get jobs but fail. I guess what I'm trying to say is.....I have my paper :PTell that to employers. Tell us how it works for ya.

I'm saying you're more likely to meet a higher caliber of woman:P.

You don't need a piece of paper or to go to a top college to be happy. The argument that it leads to better things is flawed.im not going to college or university but eff it who cares i dont care. ill be poor and i dont even give a damn

Why i'm I in college, becuase i want to sit behind a desk for the rest of my life and making money doing it.
If not i would be in the miltary.
why brush and floss teeth and go to the dentist, you are just going to lose your teeth if you live long enough...I mean we can apply this thinking to anything. You actually sound like my kids. Why make our beds we just mess them up again..

Those examples are flawed. You need your teeth, so you have to take care of them. You can't apply my argument to everything. A college degree isn't life or death. You are flawed and your kids are flawed.why brush and floss teeth and go to the dentist, you are just going to lose your teeth if you live long enough...I mean we can apply this thinking to anything. You don't need a college degree to be happy, that's true. The argument that it leads to better things is not flawed. Even in none college degree fields a college degree is beneficial. For example in America a dishwasher w/ a college degree earns 2x more than one w/o, even though no degree is necessary for the job. Then you've got corporate positions that you can't attain w/o a degree period.
There's the obvious financial benefits of attending college, but then there's also the education and intellectual furthering that you experience that lasts a lifetime. Plus, a lot of people really enjoy their time in college.
I feel like it is the end... why go to Columbia University for 4 years and then not get the job you've been gunning for...I think this song sums up this thread nicely,

Well for one just getting accepted into Columbia is an achievement that will last a lifetime considering the fact that the so few people actually get in. Some people want to attain hard to reach goals, and since Columbia is essentially the top 1% or higher of the population just attending is a huge honor, and honestly that means something.
Refuting you means nothing because I'm gonna die one day anyways...So why work so hard for nothing? its just going to be a piece of paper that will rot away with time and no one will care.
