I usually don’t eat fast food but I got a coupon for a $1 Impossible Whopper so what the hell, I tried it.

I had no problem with the taste, texture, and consistency of the patty. It looked and tasted like regular beef. The issue is that while I didn’t feel sick, I did feel a bit queasy and unsettled a few hours later (maybe because I haven’t eaten fast food for a while).

I’m very choosy about what I eat, I would try it again, and overall it was fine and anything that will cut down meat farming to help the planet can only help. I heard they’re trying to do plant based chicken and pork next so I‘ll give those a try.

One caution: plant based meat is not healthier than regular meat and it tends to have a lot of additives.

Yeah, I've tried a lot of them over the years. They are usually good, but Impossible burgers are the only ones that I would say do a pretty good job of mimicking meat.

I’ve tried a few. They’re getting much better. They aren’t very useful as a “diet“ food though, because they usually have a ton of fat and calories

Yeah, one time I had some 'Beyond Meat' with rice. I was impressed; it tasted a lot like beef.

I have tried the KFC Vegan Burger, it's nice and you can't tell it's not meat.

Yeah I didn’t mind what I’ve had over the years. There’s been some that have been a real hit-and-miss though.

None of that modern impossible meat. I have tried other plant based substitutes in past, like no-meat pepperoni snacks I got from some yuppie grocery and it was tasty. Tofu hot dogs are gross. I sometimes would have a no meat burger based on black beans, it just tasted like a season black bean patties.

Yeah I have. I've been impressed with a few vegan "meat" options.

I think the thing about fast food vegan burgers, is they're not meant to be healthier than the regular meat options. It just happens to be the case that vegetarians would like to enjoy burgers too.

No because it's about as disgusting as school lunch food. All processed crap.

No. Unfortunately, my wife is kind of triggered by it (too many run-ins with cliquey vegans). Having had vegetarian/vegan versions of meat, it is kind of a non-starter, as I expect it to taste like a vitamin pill.

That said, anyone down for meat-based vegetables? :p
