nope, but i see people do that all the time round here. not just at lights, but even while driving. i swear, it's ridiculous; young people, old people--everyone does it. i think it's even illegal to text while driving in my province, but it seems like no one cares.
i have before. with an older phone which had the 1-9 numbers and such. i could text without looking at the screen so it wasnt too bad.
now that i got a smartphone with a full qwerty keyboard or touchscreen i dont do it.
i even hate answerign my phone. only time i answer while driving is if my parents are calling. even then i dont answer at first. then they call again or leave a message b!tching me mout for not answering, even though they know im driving. so then i answer and the first words out of their mouth "you shouldnt be talking on the phone while your driving" pisses me off. cant win one way or another.
I don't even text when I'm not driving. Eventually though, I'm going to get so pissed at people who do that I'm going to start keeping a bullhorn in my car, rolling down the window and yelling "Hey c***, get off your f-ing phone." A lot of people can barely drive when not texting, they don't need that too.
In all honesty, I have probably done it twice in my entire life. It always seemed to dangerous to me. Even when I was a young, stupid teenager I didn't do that. I mean... your eyes aren't even on the road!
I used to, not anymore. Remember the old Nokia phones, had only two colors, buttons 0-9, I used to text on those because it was soooo easy, so reliable I can write a novel and not need to look at the phone once while doing so, I could totally one hand write perfectly because the buttons were easy to feel out with the fingers and I wouldn't have to divert my eyes while driving... now things are different, it evolved to people wanting colored screen phones with flat buttons that were hard to detect to with the fingers alone and would crack easy and would be defective after time, and of course now everyone has touch screens. texting while driving is dangerous now simply by virtue of the phones we use.
Only on my old keyed phone, and even then I could text without looking at it. I've only look at the final message. That all stopped when I saw the episode of Mythbusters where they proved using a cellphone was as bad as drunk driving. And at least when you are drunk, you are paying attention to the road.
