I lost my job today because the owner(s) of the restaurant I worked at decided to shut 'er down permanently without any notice. No idea why.

Sucks bro.
Yes, owner of the burger shop I was at sold it to another person. I was told I would be kept on but they sadly got rid of all previous employees.
Yes, but you know, actually getting fired. Getting fired sucks.
Sorry to hear about your job though. You will find a new one I'm sure.

Thanks. Yeah, I'll find another one. Entry level restaurant jobs are as common as STDs I'm sure.
I have never been fired but I have been layed off due to slow downs. My current job is in oil/natural gas. Things are not looking to good. They have been doing rounds of layoffs and currently I am displaced from working in lab to sitting in security. From about 60+ hours a week to 32.

The perks of being a wallflower cute chick.
Yup. My very first full-time job watching boilers at a linen-cleaning facility. That was so long ago though.
One time I was selling clothes at a clothing store. I got another job at the docks and went to work there when I was supposed to be selling clothes. The clothes store fired me, big deal, I was making bank at the docks!
Depends on what you call loosing a job. I have never worked for anybody and I have always been my own boss, but if having to close a business qualifies as loosing a job then yes I have lost my job twice so far; shit happens in the world of business, one day everything is all right and the next you are in trouble.
Got fired for a single "no call, no show" when I was 18. I worked for a quick oil change shop my freshman year in college. I had worked there for over a year and that was my first infraction.

Sorry to hear that. Never easy to lose one's job.
But no i have never been terminated or lost a job, the jobs i had before studying full time i always quit myself.
I just got laid off 3 weeks ago, actually every year since the last 5 years.. looking for a new job everytime is such a pain. I hate it
I've been laid off a few times. First time as at a video store, because I was 16 and kept asking for too much holiday time and barely worked any shifts.
Second time was at Computer Repair shop because they didn't have enough business.
Third time was at a consulting firm where again they didn't have enough business.
I also 'lost' my job as a Research Assistant when I graduated University, but only because the position was only open to students.
Fired no. I have been layed off due to no available jobs for a period of 18 months and it sucked. Thankfully this last 1-2 years thinks look a bit better and i got my job back but i dont work full time yet.
Good news. I got a job dish washing at a restaurant in a mall. Starts off at $12/hour. I'll get bumped up to $13 after a year. I start next Friday.
I have been fired from almost every job I've had, I'm not much of a people person. But I'm working on it.
