Were you ever fired or let go at work, and on that day you happened to be pissed already so you went "screw it" and maybe punched him? Or maybe you took his head and slammed it against a window causing a crack or some such?

Thoughts.

Depends, if his office has cameras or there are witnesses it can still be proven and a shove is still assault. Considering how hard it is right now to get a job right now (my best friend got laid off last November and he still hasn't found a job yet) the last thing I would want to do is make it even harder to get employed by having a criminal record.

Damn, so many slaves in this thread. So worried about not getting another job instead of doing something that comes from instinct. Just goes to show nearly everyone lets money control their lives. Pathetic, and I thought I was weak. I don't give myself enough credit sometimes.

This....well, for me, it entirely depends on the circumstances. I never got fired, just laid off, quit my second job. But if my boss was a complete ass hole, threaten me with violence, then maybe I'll consider it. But even if that were the case, he'd have to hit me first for me to retaliate. I'm not interested in going to jail and getting charged for something so stupid....

You're the one that seems to find it appropriate to batter another because they have decided to stop giving you money. I guess you're the one worshiping money.

Never said it was appropriate. But if someone cuts off their means of being able to live and have a roof over your head, could you blame the individual for "paying" their employer back? :)

If that payback is a battery, yes. Adults do not act like that. If someone has a legitimate reason to stop buying your labor then you need to concentrate on how to market your labor, not striking out like an angry child.
