Are you going to watch? Do you have to travel to do so? Lucky for me, I just have to go a few miles down the road for prime viewing. Check the interactive map here to see if it's crossing your path.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and those of you who need to travel to observe it should be asking for the day off now (it's on a Monday) before the time off requests start piling up. And they will.

I've only ever seen partial solar eclipses, and I'll have to be dead or otherwise physically incapacitated to miss this.

Don't forget your shades as you will need them pre-and-post totality.

Imagine look up in the daytime sky and seeing this:

Don't miss it, folks. Start planning now!

Edit: Just found this information - Everyone in the continental U.S. will see at least a partial eclipse. In fact, if you have clear skies on eclipse day, the Moon will cover at least 48 percent of the Sun’s surface. And that’s from the northern tip of Maine.

ooh.. didn't know about this. i live too far to see it fully but will definitely check it out.

i remember a big one that hit my area back in the mid-90's it was cloudy that day but we definitely saw it get darker out.

looks like there will be a total one that is very close to where i live in 2024 though. time to set that calendar!

Yeah I remember that one. 94 or 95 I think. I called the local classic rock station and had them play selections from 'DSoTM' and ended up chatting with the DJ for like 20 minutes.

Excellent, time to send out a newsletter to my cult. Now what animal to sacrifice. Goats are traditional, but maybe played out. Hogs?

Haha I think I remember that. I was in like third grade but when my folks picked me up they had the radio on and Pink Floyd was playing. Might have been coincedence, what area you from? This was KFOG 104.5 in the SF Bay Area.

Ugh, damn quotes. You should make the day trip to Casper. Would be totally worth it. There's no comparing a partial eclipse to a total eclipse...night and day.
