I don't know about you guys but I use to love going in the woods growing up it was always a adventure especially when you find something cool.I remember one time finding a VHS of the movie Seven and it worked!! there where other times when I find dirty magazines which was amazing pre- internet days. I also enjoyed smoking in the woods hiding it from my parents in my early teens. What about you guys did you go in the woods growing up and did you find anything cool?

Yup I used to run around in the boonies behind my house. It was like the Bridge to Terabithia and shit.

Yeah we had woods. And caves. And rivers and creeks and such. One thing about East Tennessee: the landscape.

We had some open space where I lived growing up--hills, oak trees, and so on--but no big forests or anything.

An hour away though we had the redwood forests of Northern California. It was always nice going there.

Of course, you might know this forest as the moon of Endor :D

Very nice, you're a lucky lad, alot of poor folk live in cities where it's grey wall after brown wall.

In regards to the question, yea it's a good place to take the dogs. I have woods and a burn (or stream as you'd call it) down the road an young woodland up above on a hill, that use to be bare hills.

There isn't really anything interesting other than the a suspected as a Pictish site, which were basically primitive Scots when the Romans were shooting about. Which makes sense, they tended to take up high spots for obvious reasons, basically live in a shallow bowl.

Yes, we used to play army in the woods, Truth or Dare with the girls, and hang out there when we skipped school.

....but now there's Lyme disease carrying ticks all thru the northeast U.S.

I grew up in Cities all my life and we barely if ever get one single tree where I lived and to be honest, I don't regret missing nature either. I rather be surrounded my Technology then mother nature.

But however, I'll gladly be one with nature when I take a vacation like up in the Mountains and stuff like that.

I didn't have many friends, and I probably would have gone out more if I did.

I remember going into the woods next to a friend's house one time and we walked pretty far out and got lost. We found our way to a nearby cornfield and walked the long way back.

My dad and I would go to the woods sometimes, like hiking through campsite trails. I didn't enjoy it much as a kid, but maybe nowadays I could appreciate it more.

For some reason I can never enjoy things unless I'm alone, with an attractive woman, or close friends. And it depends on my mood.
