Good video... I know now not to listen to Glenn Beck
Glenn Beck - So sick... yet I can't... look... away...Glenn Beck.
Paraphrased: "I'm not saying you're a terrorist, congressman, but prove to me you're not one."
"Wait, WHAT? I'm no terrorist!"
"Stop defending yourself!"Bio_Spark
I hate Glen but he is right. When we live in a country that has such great treatment you cant expect it to be free. I bet the lady was on welfare anyway.
He's an idiot, what's the point of having guest callers if all you intend to do is cut them off mid-sentence and yell at them. He doesn't want discussions, he just wants to preach his own opinions.
Lotteries are not part of the Canadian health care system. You can argue against universal health care, but the statistics say that it is a better system (in terms of money spent, recovery rate, etc). Waiting times are sometimes an issue, but one that is often over-exagerrated. And waiting times are a complaint about the American health care system as well.
The National Post reports on how some Canadian doctors have held lotteries to determine which patients to eliminate from their practices, while other doctors held lotteries to decide who they'll accept. By shedding some patients doctors hope to avoid imposing a 5-minute appointment assembly line on the rest of their patients. Similarly, restricting new patients through a lottery keeps patient loads manageable.
Both lotteries reflect the severe shortage of primary doctors in Canada --yet another example of medical personnel shortages (and surpluses) that tend to crop up under nationalized single-payer health care systems. (Last year it was a nurse shortage and hospital consultant glut in the U.K.)
After being kicked out of her doctor's practice, one patient was forced to drive 18 kilometers to the next town to find a doctor.
However, an 18 kilometer drive is better than no doctor at all. According to the article, "A paucity of medical professionals has left an estimatedfive million Canadians without a family doctor." The Canadian Medical Association sponsoredwebsite, MoreDoctors.ca,similarly estimates between 4 and 5 million Canadians lack a family physician.Canada's population numbers about 33 million, meaning a little over 15 percent of Canadians go without primary care. Interestingly, about 15.9 percent of Americans are uninsured. Which is worse, no access or no insurance?
I was listening to him a little bit today. Didn't hear this though, although I can't say i'm surprised. He is slipping slowly into insanity.fidosimHe does seem to be going crazier, but I still enjoy him
Thing about that is, Glenn Beck has always been this way. Yet kids like the ones on Gamespot have never listened to him before, and most on here are Liberals, so I'm not surprised by the bashing on this thread. However, that man has more common sense in his pinkie than anyone all those who usually criticize him. DelsageThis too, but the second MSNBC is criticized....

Well i can't comment too much on MSNBC as I don't care too much for them at all. But it's interestingly enough how the TC got this clip from a site called Media Matters for America. Well how much does the Media Matter for America?
Media Matters for America (or MMfA) is a 501 non-profit organization founded in 2004 by journalist and author David Brock. Media Matters for America describes itself as "a web-based, not-for-profit, progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media." Media Matters for America defines "conservative misinformation" as "news or commentary presented in the media that is not accurate, reliable, or credible and that forwards the conservative agenda."
Well, as if the media isn't Liberally biased enough, now we need to have a non profit organization go out to criticize Conservatives who are apparently "Misinformed". This site should be changed to "Media Matters for Liberals and Progressives".
Well so much for that as they just seem to be bashing Conservatives for their personalities. Oh wait, Glenn Beck isn't a Conservative, he's a Libertarian who finds the facts on both Democrats and Republicans who are leading this country down a path of Socialism, or worse.
I realize that Glenn Beck can come off as a lil crazy but if you actually watch his show on a regular basis you will see that the core of his ideas etc are actually very well founded not to mention that many of the things he has been called crazy for saying have actually happened. He is way more intelligent and insightful than people give him credit for...instead, they take little clips out of context and base judgment of of that

That's because your not listening, I think I heard it perfectly clear about how Prime Ministers and Leaders of different Nations come to America for Health Care cause they can't get in to see a doctor in their own country. Or how Massachusetts can't seem to hold onto the Universal Health Care system they have as now they have to cut out the Legal Immigrants. Yeah that all came in pretty clear.

Every state was hit by the financial crisis including massachusetts. When states lose money, that includes dopping funding for public services inclusing healthcare. And yes the US healthcare system is great if your rich but your hero Beck doesn't like to mention 50% of Americans forgoing necessary treament, medication etc. because they can't afford it. Glenn Beck thinks that a mother that died of a brain clot because she stopped paying for her 50k a year blood thinnners to feed her kids is at fault and refuses to think for a second that the system is broken.
Oh wait, Glenn Beck isn't a Conservative, he's a Libertarian who finds the facts on both Democrats and Republicans who are leading this country down a path of Socialism, or worse.Uhh, Glenn Beck is indeed a conservative...Delsage

If you looked on the site for 5 minutes you'd see that Media Matters regularly criticizes the Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, CBS, and other mainstream "liberal" media
Oh and if you can refute one thing Media Matters has said or taken out of context than please let me know

Perfect example of what I was referring to. You don't even listen to Glenn Beck do you? no less the facts. Also there are States that are doing fairly well even in these critical times. Such as Texas, the one state that isn't apart of the Cap and Trade Bill, and is quite a Conservative State is doing quite well for itself, vs. Massachusetts a very Liberal State that needs to cut out Legal Immigrants for it's Universal Health Care because they can't afford it. Hmm... yeah.
Maybe you should find out how complex the new Universal Health Care system really is.
Yes I have watched Beck you tool
And what makes you think that a private multi payer system is any simpler
In fact I know it's not if efficiency has anything to do with it
Fact: Administrative cost for American healthcare is 3 times as much as the horrible government bureaucracy of Canada

No he Was a Conservative. He Recently he turned Libertarian, and quite often calls himself a Libertarian now. But I doubt you listen to Glenn Beck, and why do you always try to contradict me?

Glenn Beck is a salesman
He projects his image of the everyman and parades himself around with a noose to hang the corrupt washington politicians in one hand and sells his new book with the other

I don't have much time here as I've got to get to going soon, but here you go, we had a similar argument before you know.
"Libertarian conservatism, also known as conservative libertarianism (and sometimes called right-libertarianism), includes political ideologies which meld libertarianism and conservativism. Frank Meyer, a co-founder of National Review has called this fusionism.
United States Representative Ron Paul has been described as combining libertarian and conservative small government ideas. Ronald Reagan often is quoted as saying: "I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism."

And to clarify from your "point" Canadians who dont have access to a family doctor are still able to get access to other healthcare services.
