GameSpot's owners' owners support SOPA. That does not mean GameSpot supports SOPA. I wouldn't put it passed them, though.scorch-62
The larger CBS corportation has shown it's support for SOPA, yes. This is because they want to protect their TV properties (such as How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men, etc. on CBS and shows like Californication and Dexter on Showtime) which are frequently distributed illegally. Here at GameSpot, while we understand the need for copyright protection, we believe that the SOPA and PIPA bills attack the problems in a misguided way and that a great deal of work needs to be done to articulate solutions without affecting online freedoms. We've posted the this story to highlight the challenges and have been providing links to places where objections can be heard.
I think if SOPA passes we all should riot. Its about time for a good old fashioned riot. hummer700London style.
I think some the things that those who are anti-SOPA say are exaggerated but no, I don't support SOPA.

Honestly, glad to hear from y'all :3How is GameSpot anti-SOPA when CBS is a supporter? :? th3warr1or
It's a large company, and different kinds of media have very different needs. At GameSpot we believe that there must be a better solution than these bills, and are glad to see that the objections are starting to get through to government officials.

This could help. I still think google could have made a huge difference if they actually had a blackout yesterday, rather than a mere gesture about it.BranKetraLOL of course it would've made a huge difference. It's google. Nobody is going to even know how to look up anything.
I'm in happy ol' europe, but it seems incredible that in the so-called "Land of the Free" that right-wing nationalist americans preach so much about would become much more like China with SOPA and PIPA. Piracy is obviously bad, but SOPA and PIPA are just repression of freedom.DeX2010Eh? Europe has idiotic piracy legislation too... Also SOPA and PIPA have impact beyond the US
[QUOTE="ColdExistence"]Pu$$y.I'm against SOPA, but I'm going to be perfectly honest with you. That crap probably wouldn't effect me very much. The only thing I ever do on the internet is watch video game trailers or post on GameSpot.Still, i did sign this petition http://www.avaaz.org/en/save_the_internet/No. I like E3. And I doubt skipping out on the event will make a difference.
