Haha General Studies are a joke. My tutor used to constantly say there are no wrong answers, but he didn't like me pointing out that if we get marked on it then there quite clearly is.

Nicely done. Did ya do Triple Science?
Thanks. :) I did double science; one GCSE for year 10, and one for year 11.

Yeh it was the biggest waste of my life. They say it goes for UCAS points to get you into uni. First of all most uni's aren't accepting general studies and secondly I'm not even going to uni. We automatically got put on the general studies course. If it wasn't for 30 quid a week EMA I'd have never turned up!
On the first paper I was like "Right I'll give it a shot" - got 70 marks. Second paper I got half way through and gave up and was like "**** this" - 46 marks. Third paper I doodled and went to sleep - 0 marks :P

For the record, I got a B at A2 for General Studies, without any lessons. We just had to sit the exams at my school.

That is awesome. It's a shame they didn't give you any extra credit for "artistic expression" or something equally weird.

My General Studies exam was entirely essay, something to do with a religious experience. Almost everyone who went a bit off track and bashed Christianity got really low marks.

You should have combined the two and talked about how Jesus made 500 tuna sandwiches. A+ guaranteed.

So who wants to explain to the poor American what these GCSEs are and the significance of them?helium_flashThey're the exams taken in the final year of high school. You can use them to gain employment or go to college (college is a further two years of education required before university (university is college for you)).

And is this in Europe only? How old are you when you graduate high school?

I think GCSEs are only used in England, and we finish high school at 16.

i dont no why its called maths that what we just call it
no this is just for england and wales( correct me if im wrong), GCSE stands for General certificate of education you take it at your last year of secondary school which is year 11 (15 to 16 years of age). and u dont need to graduate to leave school you just get grades which will depict what kind of college you go to or what courses u do at college.
any other questions?
well done all of u

Pretty good, I would've preferred A's to those B's though. >.>

 Isn't that the truth? I suppose I could always resit them in January to see if can get those A's I wanted; It's not completely necessary though, B's and A's are quite good. It's just seeing A* alongside every subject that makes me cry. Damn them.... :x (not, well done to you all. :P)

45% of england dont even get 5 a to c grades
and those that do mostly get C's
so dont kid yourself u did well
Thanks man. :D I think I may resit the science one's anyway; I was put on foundation tier for Physics and Chemistry, so I'll try those two again... perhaps. :xlol there is no point you did really really well compared to the whole conutry
