My longest car drive was probably South Florida up to North Carolina and it took about 16 hours or so.

To paris, but it was only a 5 hour drive from my home in The Netherlands.
If I have to travel further than that, I just take a plane or a high speed train. :)

Because road trips are infinitely more enjoyable. They also cost a lot less if you have the time.

Atlanta to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is like a 14 hour drive. The longest trip I have had to take for work was 1127 miles or 19 hours. Our company does not allow us to drive more than 10 hours in one day (found this out after the trip to Iowa).

Kansas City to DC area bunch of times (1000 miles).

In high school we all thought a trip to Colorado to ski wouldn't be that far...it's the next state over. 10 hours later (600 miles or so) we realized it was pretty far.

Back when I was a freshman in college the girl I was dating was looking at attending my college. As such, one morning we drove 4 hours to my college from our home town, four hours back for her senior prom, an hour to the local city, and an hour back home. I drove about 10 hours that day yet never left my state. We were both exhausted by the end of it.

Los Angeles to Las Vegas is the farthest I drove. Anything farther, I'd rather fly on a plane. I also went on a trip with my uncle to Miami from Los Angeles once, but that doesn't count because he was driving.

I guess I've been in the car on trips too much with my parents over the years to care to want to go extremely far. lol Driving just doesn't do it for me.

Of course I'd rather drive any day then ever go on a plane because I don't want to do that.

Eh, to each their own. To me, there's very few things better than a long road trip if I have the time. Cruising Route 66 is something all Americans should do at least a few times.

Yeah out west is the land of the roadtrip. To the painted deserts of AZ, to the red mesas and golden plains of NM, and the purple mountains and red canyons of Colorado, etc. out west of a drivers paradise.
