Florida mayor just banned Donald Trump from his city

Good going i say, we all know that isis wants people like Trump creating this massive divide between muslims and non muslims, so isis can say "look look how they treat you join us," but alot of people like Trump are too dumb to see that.

At the end of the day you can not condemn a whole group of people for the actions of a few, i know it must be tempting to be like "no muslims" having that view will do more harm than good i reckon.

So yes its time to make an example of this guy.

The mayor has acted illegally. The FBI should water board him to ensure he isn't an Islamic State collaborator.

Anyway i didn't realise there were so many Trump supporters here in OT.

There are a lot of stupid people out there.

This election cycle has made me even more cynical about my fellow Americans and I didn't think that was possible so I can thank Trump for that at least.

To exile people? Are you really suggesting that people hasn't been exiled from cities and states since the founding by law? What would you call the incarceration and exile of people of japanese-american descent during ww2 for starters?

There is the ideal and then the reality. I understand the realities, I know the history of what my nation has done. So no, I'm not suggesting that people haven't been exiled, don't try to place words in my mouth. And the camps for the japanese-american individuals was deplorable. We allowed fear to trump our perspective. We hope that as time goes by we look back at events in our past with regret, but also a sense of purpose to make sure we don't do that again. So yes, the reality is is that we have done terrible things and sadly we continue to do terrible things. But we strive for the ideal.

What the **** are you talking about? Freedom of speech should NOT be abridged which this mayor is apparently in favor of doing. Trump is a troll....but the mayor is just as vile.

The vast majority of us here in america live in a bubble, we only know what Fox, CNN and all the other major media outlets tell us.....or should I say, shove down our throats.

We don't do any additional research in order to look at issues or personalities from multiple perspectives! As long as that mentality exist, some will always be followers.

Instead of understanding that we are part of the world community, some of us here think we are separate. That thought is the result because most of our information is censored. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those hippy globalist, but I think we here in the U.S just need to have a broader perspective.

I'm convinced they're not Trump supporters, they're just conservatives/republicans that would rather vote for Trump than be caught making a liberal/democratic choice. I guess that's indirect support, so nevermind; they do support Trump. Poor dumb bastards.

Someone close to me often says "Republicans would vote for Hitler if he was the only candidate", and I am slowly realizing that might actually be true. It is strength of sorts, to be so unified and blind and unwilling to bend; party loyalty is really the only thing the GOP has going for them. Without that fanatical devotion, there'd be very few reasons to vote for any of the Republican candidates, but Trump especially.

I think you can call out Trump for his jackass views, but I dont know if you can legally ban someone from a city.

The mayor did not ban Trump from his city. His made a ridiculous tweet to match Trump's ridiculous statement. He knows full well he can't legally ban ANYONE from his city (provided they aren't violent criminals or some such thing), which is the irony of the statement.

Of course you can. That's the unfortunate downside of the First Amendment. You are legally entitled to be as racist, homophobic, xenophobic, intolerant, ignorant, stupid, or just plain idiotic as you want to be so long as you aren't breaking any laws. If you think thinking like Trump is reason enough to get banned from a city, then you've got to ban a hell of a lot more people than just him, and banning people for unpopular thinking believe it or not is un-American.
