Ok, as the title says, pick your favorite two candidates from both parties; also explain why they hold that position. Please post two from BOTH the Republicans AND the Democrats. I'll go first.

Republican:

1. Ron Paul. A quick look at my sig will let you know that I support him. He's the only Federalist candidate, and the only one of the Republicans who doesn't support the war. Easily my favorite candidate of both parties.

2. Mike Huckabee. I don't really agree with him on a lot of issues, but I feel that he's genuine and truthful. I don't believe that Romney or Guiliani want to be Iraq because of obligation, but when Huckabee says "we broke it we bought it" I actually believe him. Plus, I think he's likable enough to be able to work with both parties on passing legislation.

Democrat

1. Joe Biden. I chose him mostly for the same reasons I chose Huckabee. Honesty and trustworthiness are big things with me, and I feel that Biden has both. Plus, he's one of the few candidates who'll actually answer a freaking question in the debates.

2. Bill Richardson. I like him because, like Biden, he actually answers questions that are addressed to him. I also like the fact that he's a Governor; which gives him a good deal of leadership ability.

So which two candidates from these parties do you like the best?

First off, if you're not going to choose two candidates from both parties, don't bother posting. Second, since you haven't given a reason for you choice I'm assuming it's because of you religion, which is a crap reason to support someone. I also happen to be a mormon, but I wouldn't trust Romney in a million years.

I like John McCain and Romney a lot. On the other side, the only one I really like is Obama.

I really like McCain expecially, though. We need a man with military experience for our president at this time of war. We can;t just abandon this problem in Iraq, we started it. We need to fix it.

I like Romney because of his values, being a Mormon my self, but I realize not many people in other places like my religion much, which may cause some problems.

Also, I didn't mention him, but Rudy Giuliani (excuse my spelling) is a very intelligent and charismatic man, and I wouldn't at all mind him being president.

Romney being mormon is only an added plus. I like what he's done with Massachusets.

Ron Paul is my favorite out of both parties mainly for reasons you already said. I don't like any of the other Republicans.

On the Democratic side, my favorite would be Dennis Kucinich mainly because I think he really cares. I honestly think only Paul & Kucinich care about this country more then themselves. Granted they are almost complete opposites when it comes to their idea of how government should run. Obama is probably my 2nd favorite Democrat, or possibly Biden.

Sadly, I don't think either(Paul or Kucinich) has any chance at all of winning. I will be voting for Ron Paul in the primaries though.

McCain and Giuliani from the GOP. The only one of the major democratic candidates that I could tolerate is Obama.

I love it when a person starts a topic and wants to have an intelligent discussion about political candidates and most of the responses he gets are one liners by individuals who haven't put much thought into the question being asked.

Here are my choices:

democrats - Biden: one of the few candidates that is grounded in reality. His answers are always honest (strange coming from a politician) and he doesn't say things just to appease the base of his political party. He came up with the idea of dividing iraq into three independent provinces along ethnic lines, which i think is the only realistic solution to the iraq problem given the level of ethnic cleansing that is currently going on.

democrats i don't like = hillary: she's as fake as boobs on a stripper. you'll never get an honest answer out of her, only the one that will appease the base or the audience that is listening to her speak. She'll change her mind when she speaks to another group that disagrees with the first.

republicans - huckabee: like biden, seems to be an honest fellow. However, the main problem that i have with him is his lack of knowledge about current medical issues facing the country. For example, when asked about whether he'd support more funding for cancer research, he provided an ambiguous answer and began alluding to his belief that cancer is caused by a bad diet and if people ate better than there would be no cancer. While there is some truth to this, it does show a fundamental lack of knowledge about cancer, and on a grander scale a belief-based rather than a fact-based approach to societal and possible world problems, which in my opinion is a bit dangerous.

republicans i don't like = giuliani and thompson: giuliani is simply a sleazy politician and already has more political baggage than bill and hillary combined. Thompson has the charisma of a doorknob and still refers to russian as the soviet union. One wonders whether he's been following world politics since the late 80s.

Paul and Kucinich.X360PS3AMD05

Agreed. I support Paul more than Kucinich though. I love their stance on leaving Iraq, but DK seems like he wants to "regulate" our rights. Gun control, taking more taxes, etc. I love Paul because, frankly, he is the only one that seems to make sense. Then you see news reports about how he's coo-koo because he believes in a NAFTA superhighway. *sigh* would be wonderful if he won.
