I just picked up the fourth season of dexter and it got me thinking the great TV that has passed us over the decade, most of which has come through HBO (or at least half of which). So, if you had to pick out of these 5 shows, which would it be?

The Wire, but I havent seen The Sopranos, Entourage or Six Feet Under so I can't judge.SaintLeonidasYou should at least check out The Sopranos. Similar to The Wire, its nearly flawless as far as the writing goes.
What does Dexter have to do with HBO? This thread should be about Showtime. Anyways, I choose Six Feet Under.
Rome for sure.
I don't count Band of Brothers since that was a miniseries and I don't want to have to choose between Rome and Band of Brothers.
Sopranos and Six Feet Under never interested me but I heard great things about them, Deadwood and Carnivale.
To be honest, thats a good question. I suppose nothing other than Dexter got me thinking about HBO.What does Dexter have to do with HBO? This thread should be about Showtime. Anyways, I choose Six Feet Under.

The Sopranos by miles. I was underwhelmed by The Wire. Dexter is cool too. Haven't seen Entourage (yet) and Six Feet Under doesn't interest me.
Also, whoever is saying The Pacific is better than Band of Brothers: you're wrong! :P I personally thought Band of Brothers was vastly superior.
I forgot all about Rome. Had HBO (& I think the BBC is who they partnered with) had the money to do several more seasons that show could have been up there. For pure content, those are about as good as 24 episodes of TV can get. Too bad the damn thing cost too much to make.btaylor2404I think i heard a movie was being made can't say if that rumor is correct :P
