  1. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw - $60.8 Million (new release)
  2. The Lion King - $38.2 Million
  3. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - $20.0 Million
  4. Spider-Man: Far From Home - $7.7 Million
  5. Toy Story 4 - $7.1 Million
  6. Yesterday - $2.44 Million
  7. The Farewell - $2.42 Million
  8. Crawl - $2.1 Million
  9. Aladdin - $2.0 Million
  10. Annabelle Comes Home - $875,000

I'd say, this is a good opening for the spin-off Fast & Furious without Vin Diesel leading, but then again, It's because people don't see this as a Fast & Fuirous movie, they see it as the Rock movie featuring Jason Statham & Idris Elba in it. It's August 2019, this is a slow month so this was expected to win it. Haven't seen it yet but I heard good things about it. I'll check it out later this week.

August 2-4 mojo's box office weekend

Never watched a single one of these movies, but it did look like dumb fun.

Certainly more appealing than yet another Disney remake.

I miss when the Fast & Furious was just about street racing.

I saw Once Upon a Time... last night. It's more Tarantino. If you don't know your Hollywood history a lot of it may be lost on you, but it's a damn fine movie and both Brad Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio were spectacular in their roles.

Loved Tokyo Drift. Been hoping they make a sequel for this spin off for years, less save the world more illegal street racing.

Need for Speed>Any Fast & Furious movies. Need for Speed did one job, it was all about racing and way better then any F&F movies combine.

Needs a better hero than Aaron Paul though.

Same love Tokyo Drift too I can't stand the new Fast and Furious movies anymore the last one I really enjoyed was Fast Five after that it's been all downhill.

Only Tokyo Drift was all about street racing. The first one was about stopping Dom's heist crew. The second one was about catching the drug dealer or whatever he was (been awhile). The 4th and beyond all involve some crazy heist or catching some criminal.

You are right but street racing still had much more of a presence up to Tokyo Drift and then it became less and less after that now it's like the Avengers. Fast Five change the series for the worst in my opinion even though I enjoyed that movie. But it started a bad trend and the franchise went ape shit some people love that but for me it jumped the shark and now the next one is going to have John Cena in it yeah that's enough for me lol can't stand that guy.

@br0kenrabbit:

I consider that movie among Tarantino's best, I was the same age as that little girl in that movie in 1969, 8 years old.

I can appreciate the movie because Tarantino and myself are about the same age, so I understand all the things in the movie. I thought the movie was fantastic!

Yeah, it was awesome. It's either this or The Hateful Eight, and I haven't watched the Netflix Extended version of Hateful Eight, yet.

Tarantino grew up just up the road from me and I always try to catch the references he throws in to this area. Knoxville, Cumberland County, Sweetwater...he always throws a reference in at some point. I think this is the first movie he's just referenced the State of Tennessee and nothing more specific.

How long until Fast & Furious goes to space? I say it happens in one of the movies coming out in the next 2-3 years.

I saw it, I enjoyed it, but my friend who was with me had seen all the Fast and Furious movies and didn't like it. Make what you will out of that.

I've seen Fast & Furious which was like the 7th or 8th in the franchise, and I liked it a fair amount. I haven't seen any of the others and I don't really plan to see this one either. I'm sure it's fine, just dumb fun and fine, but I don't know, I don't really care. I still need to see Spiderman.
