Dallas Wiens wanted to feel his 4-year-old daughter's kisses again, something he couldn't do after a horrific electrical accident disfigured his face.

I wonder how long it will be before people start getting face transplants for cosmetic reasons.

While that is heartwarming the technology scares me. Soon we'll have hundreds of rich biebers and gagas running around.

That's cool. I can only ask myself why when I saw the picture I thought of Gordon Freeman.

WHAT... HOW... They gave him.. A NEW FACE.. How is that even POSSIBLE. Honestly, it just looks like he had a stroke or something... Youd never even have imagined his accident would have even been 1/1,000 that bad..

How is it they could do that but couldn't even give MJ a nose?....

I feel very scared to look at the before picture. But judging from the after picture, he looks 100% normal. Pretty amazing.

Well, not 100% normal, but given what his face looked like before, it is incredible. I'm even amazed that his new face can grow facial hair from another person's face. That is amazing to me for some reason.

Jeez, there wasnt much of him left before he got the transplant. You may want to put a disclaimer in the OP for some squeamish people. Its amazing how he looks afterwards though.

That is truly incredible, but if I see another person praise God for this I am going to freak out.

This is really cool and highly interesting. It makes me wonder what kind of medical advances are to come.

How many people are praising God in this thread? Also, I find it curious that you capitalize the G.

I must say: I am impressed.

Though the idea of face transplants just reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode. Creepy thought.

Actually, it's grammatically correct to capitalize God. The reason being that God is the literal name of the Christian God; you capitalize the first letter of a name, no? It's not like when you talk about gods, when the word "god" is more of a title - not the actual name.

Good for him, he's one step closer to being normal. The funny thing is the first thing I thought of when reading the title was the movie Face-Off.

Apparently, he still has his right eyeball which can't detect light. So I guess "eye" would be more appropriate lol.
