Escape Room movie... Thoughts?

I guess it comes out on January 4th (In the USA), so if you're looking for a new movie to kick off the new year with, this is an option.

Personally, Idk, I think it looks kind of good. It might not be very original, but it seems like more of a suspense/psychological thriller than a horror movie. My mind wanted to draw comparisons to the Zero Escape games a bit, or the Saw movies, but also in a way it's reminding me of an old cult movie I somewhat liked called Cube.

Wondering what everyone else's thoughts are. Do you think it'll be any good?

I'm hoping it'll be above average for January horror standards and if I had to choose between this and Glass, I'd probably go for Glass but I'll still go see Escape Room only because it's a remake of The Cube.

Hopefully it's as good as Cube. That movie was terrifying.

Wait, I thought they already did an Escape Room?

I guess there was a movie called Escape Room back in 2017. They don't seem to be connected.

Cube was pretty low budget. Neat ideas but extremely B-movie. Still, it's the obvious comparison for something like this. I enjoy movies of this concept. A few others are Exam, Circle, The Killing Room, etc.
