Yes, thats right. I was busy watching some anime on my computer when I heard the clanking of glass, then all of a sudden the house starting shaking!

Im not going to give away where I am currently, but the house I live in is in Howard County.

Edit: ABC news says the earthquake has been risen to a 5.9.

Epicenter in VA, it happened 3 miles below the survice according to ABC news. They say we might feel after shocks in the coming days.

Edit again: Topic name changed

Edit again: Two Nuclear Reactors have been shut down as a precaution. I dont know where though since my brother told me and he left out those details.

Update on reactors, they are now back to normal opperations.

Edit, yet again: Also, though no major damage has been found or reported, there has been some minimal damage reported. "A few spots" of damage at the DC hospital.

WOW! I'm in central Pennsylvania and me and my family just felt that too! We were scared that maybe the foundation of our house was shaking or something, but I just turned on the TV and it says that a 5.8 just hit near D.C.

Felt it here in New York first time in my whole life here just a very mild shaking wasn't quite sure what it was at first leaning back on my chair wondering why it was shaking and what that rattling sound was.

It lasted about 30 secs to a minute here. At one point the shaking really picked up, so I got down and I was ready to slide under my bed.

What are the odds the effects could be felt in Raleigh? Out of no where a few minutes ago, my house shook for a couple seconds violently.

Assumed it was a rogue squall or something.

My mom felt it, but I was upstairs staring at my iPod and didn't notice. I'm from Southeast VA.

Apparently there was an earthquake in Mineral, Virginia. They had to evacuate the Pentagon.

Yeah, I was at my computer chair as well and the best way to describe it is that it felt like somebody had come up behind me and started shaking my chair. Hope we don't get any follow up quakes.
