Dogs. You can't go hiking/hunting/fishing/boating with a cat. Cats are just like "WTF iz dis? Nuh-uh motherfvcker, my @ss sits right here in the window."
We have a cat and a yorkie.
I love them both but the yorkie can be quite the troll sometimes which then leads my cat to bully her.
The funny thing is that my cat is old, diabetic and as a result her back legs are crippled yet she still manages to catch mice and beat the dog up on a regular basis.
Dogs are nice but Cats are boss.
I think dogs are perfect if you plan to keep then outside or if you plan to play/interact with them all the time. Diablo-B
I never understood people who get a dog just to keep it chained/fenced up outside. Dogs are pack animals and want to be with their pack.
If you don't have room in your house, skip the dog and get a cat.
I have one cat and one dog, used to have 2 cats but one of the died.
I like both even though I am allergic to cats and my cat is crazy.

I could never imagine leaving my dog outside like that, I even let mine sleep wity me in my lap, even though she's heavy "(rottwieler). Too bad certain breeds have bad reputations, it comes down to how people raise them.
Do any of you have cats or dogs as pets? Which do you prefer? Are you more of a Dog person or a Cat Person? Or do you love both equally? I love both cats and dogs.Toph_Girl250I love both dogs and cats but perhaps I like cats slightly more than dogs.
Dude, I totally agree. Same with cats. Outdoor pets make zero sense. Then when they are out of the cage they can't go on any beds or couches, bark or run around, or play, and people don't take them for walks. They're pretty much decoration for the owner.[QUOTE="FrostyPhantasm"]I hate when people have dogs, and leave them outside 24/7, or lock them in a cage for most of the day. Why even have one?Pirate700

Cats, definitely. I have neither the time nor the inclination to take care of all the sh*t dogs need done for them. With cats you feed em then they do their own thing. Perfect pet.RhazaknaAs much as I like dogs also, it really is amazing how many basic instincts dogs lost in their domestication in contrast to cats.

I don't kno, my cat is retarded. Highly doubt he'd survive on his own.

lol I mean just little things. Like with many dogs, you can't just leave food out for them because they don't know when to stop eating and they make themselves sick. They are dependant on man for just about everything other than breathing. As much as I like dogs also, it really is amazing how many basic instincts dogs lost in their domestication in contrast to cats. I'm not sure they did. Look at how they act when surrounded by humans who have no idea how to treat them or train them. More likely, they simply kept the "must please the pack leader"-instinct on a much higher priority than the others, as mots pack animals would. And I have one dog and two much older cats, who both were here before the dog. One of them taught the puppy the very first day that when a cat hisses and lifts a paw, it's time to move backwards. Fast.[QUOTE="Rhazakna"]Cats, definitely. I have neither the time nor the inclination to take care of all the sh*t dogs need done for them. With cats you feed em then they do their own thing. Cats are my absolute favorite animal of all time. Dogs are loud, annoying, and smell bad. Commander-GreeTo be fair to dogs, since they don't regularly bathe themselves, it comes down to lazy owners for them smelling like crap (which goes with that reliance thing again). You can certainly tell a dog house though when the owners don't regularly wash them. Good LORD, those homes smell like ass.

Domesticated cats are losing brain matter. No, seriously.

It goes with the dog thinking the dead bird he rubbed his back all over when he was rolling on the ground in the park smells like heaven, combined with lazy owners. A lot of dogs actively seek out stinky stuff and try to smear it all over them, it's up to the owners to remind them that they don't need to conceal their scent for hunting purposes anymore, and to bathe them when the reminder doesn't take.

Dogs WANT to stink, it hides their smell. They're pack hunters.
That's why they'll wallow in the nastiest $hit they can find.
But yeah my dogs always got bathed weekly, but again they lived in the house with the rest of the family. If I kept them outside like some people do there'd be no way in hell I could keep them from stinking.
