Does anyone else think that American Idol has lost it's appeal?

I used to be an avid watcher, but now it just isn't the same. The judges havn't change but I think thats a good think in Simons case because he keeps things interesting. The thing that I don't like about it right now is the contestants, after the audiions I dont watch it. The contestants just aren't the same as they were in earlier seasons. I cant relate to any of the new contestants. Anybody else have this feeling?

The only appeal it had was watching people making idiots of themselves in the pre-voting.

After that I don't know why anyone watches.

same, i only watch it when people who think they can sing, sing and the judges laugh at them. i thought that a girl and a guy could only be winners instead 2 guys got intot he finalist.

i heard that this session most of the people there were already in a contracted record deals in a band..... so it kind of sucked because they were all good.

The show itself was never appealing to me, I just liked to watch it while playing some handheld game like I do with other shows for some strange reason. :|

just wat i was thinkking. I hate American Idol. Dont get me wrong, I applaud the fact that it is giving average joe and jane the chance to make it big, but i personally dont like the show. And i hate how the viewers get to vote. I know i know, "The viewers are the people who buy the music, so they should get a say!" While that is a compelling arguement, there is a reason why not everyone is a music/movie agent. Its because people who seem like they are the "best" for the job arent always. The judges should vote who wins because they probably have more expirience in who will make it after the year contract.
