Just wondering how many of you guys cursive write?

Apparently only 15% of students cursive write and even less every year. Apparently cursive writing is a dying art form due to the invention of the typewriter. I tend to only cursive write when writing letters other then that it's a pad and paper + block letters. I've been trying to change over to just cursive writing mainly because it's faster than block writing and i can't stand bringing a computer to class i don't know why :P it's not surprising it's been used less and less. When i'm sitting beside someone in a lecture with a laptop and copying something off a powerpoint i notice that typing is about twice as fast as my regular printing.

So do you guys cursive write?

I have noticed that when I write small, I write cursive. And I mean small, not the word... inb4smartasscomment.

I do both, but I suppose I write in cursive more often than not. That being said I try not to write out anything and type instead.

Yes, because I was taught to.

I write like a 5 year old when I write in print, and its all the schools fault for forcing me to get used to cursive writing.

I was taught to as well, but for some reason once highschool hit every teacher wanted things printed out in block letters or typed. My printing is fairly neat either way.

I write in print most of the time, I write in cursive sometimes when taking notes during class to help keep me awake. It actually works believe it or not. I dont write in cursive very often so when I do it forces me to concentrate more thus keeping me awake :) so almost all of my bio notes are in cursive haha

That's brilliant :D I think that's why I am starting to do it more it even seems more exciting to read my notes because my girlfriend always writes in cursive and I tend to read her letters over and over and over again.

Ive taken to writing in block capitals for many things because it's easier to read. I'm doing an engineering degree so it's not like I'll need to write in cursive much :P

I would prefere to write everything in cursive, but people sometimes have a harder time reading other peopls cursive, so I print most of the time to avoid any confusion.

Only to write my signature. I can write in "block" letters as fast as I can write in cursive, and I find it easier to correct my mistakes in block form. Also, it's easier for other people to read than cursive.

I learned how to write cursive in 3rd grade. And I have barely used it since then. I don't think I even remember how to write all of the letters, much less the capital letters.

I switch between handwriting and printing for no reason.

If a word is in all caps, I tend to print it. If it's for an assignment or something, it'll usually be handwritten.

Every year since seventh grade at least one teacher's complemented the neatness of my handwriting. =\

Haven't since grade 4.

I love it how my grade 7 music teacher lied to me that in university exams have to be written in cursive. Credibility down the toilet right there!

Always. I think my cursive looks nice, especially when compared to my non-cursive (what is that termed?). Plus, cursive makes writing look so much cooler.

That and we were told that you don't use calculators, so get used to long division. I don't know why we ever believed that.

Anyways I only use cursive when I'm bored. It makes me think more otherwise I leave out letters...

Only for my signature.

But, the D for my first name and the O for my last name aren't cursive.

The O is a cursive looking peace sign, and the D looks like this

with the 2 points in the middle converging into one point, and a line going through the D attaching to my a.

Very rarely. Usually only when I'm taking notes and my hand gets tired.
