Do you want to be buried or cremated?

For me I want to be cremated and destroy this clunker once and for all.

Buried, naked in the ground. No casket or anything. I want the earth to devour my corpse.

Take my carcass out to the desert, have an all day party, then before sunset, toss my body in a car full of explosives, and run that sumbitch off a cliff, then detonate in mid air.

I may be dead and gone, but goddammit, the memorial will be entertaining as hell.

That's quite a morbid topic. I want to be buried I guess, as is the custom where I live.

Burial, burial at sea, sky burial, tower of silence... not that bothered as long as I'm nutrition for some kind of life. Maybe buried in a ganja plantation would be cool - the notion of getting someone high once I'm dead is weirdly enticing.

Actually, come to think of it, cemetary burial in Poland is kind of appealing. Families treat graves with respect, and All Hallows is a really special festival here, with so many candles, entire towns are thick with an orangey-purple glow in the evening. If there's an unattended grave, strangers will leave flowers and candles there too. It's nice to think you'll be remembered and "communed with" once you're gone.

I expect that I'll be killed in the next few years and my corpse kicked into a mass grave. There'll be no deciding. There'll be no identification.

Cremated. Don't like the idea of my body being buried underground. Makes me feel claustrophobic even though I'd be dead anyway?

Either cremated or be used to make plant fertilizer or whatever I can be useful for. If people kept getting buried the whole planet would become a cemetery, eventually.

@warmblur: I want a celebration thrown when I die, none of that mourning my death crap. Invite my family and friends, and even those who hate me--gives them all the more reason to celebrate. Hell, even invite the police (because the cops usually wind up showing up to my family gatherings at some point, anyway).

No one needs to be shedding tears over my passing. I'd rather have those who know me laughing at the stupid crap I did when I was alive, and share a good memory or two.

I agree with you there, not enough room on the planet for burials, we'll be burying people on top of each other soon..!!. Plant fertilizer sounds like a good plan..

I don't care. They can even use me Weekend at Bernie's style if they want.

It was in jest, but you honestly think that's going to happen? In the US?

I acknowledge the fact that technically things like that can happen anywhere, but the likelihood of it happening in our lifetime is nil.

Well in my country when you have a family member cremated you're still obligated to bury the ash in the cemetery, which is of course ridiculous, but that's the law. I hope they change that before I die.

I remember asking this question several years ago here lol. Anyway, my answer is still the same, Cremated. I want my family to burn my body and leave no traces of evidence of my remains behind and leaving my legacy is more than enough. What they do with my ashes is up to them. I hate the thought of my corpse being buried and left to rot is just insulting! Plus, being cremated is cheaper so my family won't be in debt.
