It's weird, when I'm in a large group, I tend to be a little less outgoing and funny as I am when I'm hanging out with a few close friends. I just wanted to see your experiences and how you felt about this.

Both are fine, although I like it when it's more calm so we can talk more and have nice discussions.

I am pretty much fine with both, but a small crowd works best when I want to have a meaningful conversation.

A large group is always funnier but whenever there are way too many people together the group tends to be divided into smaller groups of conversation and interests so I don't see much of a difference.

small close group. large groups are good sometimes but can be a real hassle to make plans with. when you're older and everyone is working and has kids, large groups don't happen much.

A smaller group of 2, 3, 4, or 5 ... the larger the group the more hectic things become.

Smaller groups work better for me. I have never liked being around a lot of people at one time anyways.

I'm the opposite of you, TC - in a large group, I'm far more open and loud.

I like both, but I don't like being alone. :P

Im exactly the same i much prefer small groups. Part of the reason is i am not really one for shouting down other people.

I use to feel like nothing beats going out somewhere very deep in a large group. We would go places in group of 20 or more people and felt like we shut anywhere and everywhere down becoming the center of attention--but that is only fun now maybe once every other month or two nowadays(too much drama, ignorance and childish foolin). I become abit withdrawn, shy, and quiet now when it's too large(I end up being an observer of everybody else having fun and just making sure everybody doesn't fight, has rides home, money, ect ect). So I definitely prefer small groups more at this point. Much easier for me to feel comfortable and be myself.

I really don't mind either way. For me the noise level is more important, I like talking so if a party is too loud I don't enjoy it.

Definitely small. I don't know where I stand with a large group and struggle to tell when its my turn to talk so I accidentally interrupt people and stuff... Its embarrassing so I try to stay quiet.

Always been able to enjoy both scenarios. Though if you want personal contact then a smaller group is the better way. But nothing wrong with big parties either.

In my experience, it's more fun to hang out with a small group. The bigger the group, the more difficult it is to interact with everyone.

Small if in a conversation. I'm not really good with talking with a big group. I prefer talking to one or two people at a time. I have no problem being in a larger group going somewhere and having fun, however.

large groups can be nice, but most of the time they turn into giant clusterbombs of people and it gets hectic, i prefer small group of good freinds.

A small group, but not too small. I don't talk much, I just listen in to people's conversations :D If you have only 3 people in the group then it is weird because it is two people talking and me listening to them and that can be awkward.

At last head count, the largest group of close friends I have ever hung out with was 1,254,753. We had a BBQ.

I guess it all depends on the mood I'm in. I have no problem hanging out with a large group of friends, but sometimes it's nice to be with just a few close friends.

If there's too many people to fit into a car then there's too many people, IMO.
